D2-AUTOSPORT 745LI - KW VARIANT 3 Coilovers & 22" Wheels installed

Hey Guys, I just wanted to give an update on the status of our 745li project. We ordered the KW VARIANT 3 Coilovers directly from Germany about 2 weeks ago, and received them in 5 days! We are having a set of 3pc Forged whels built for the car, but they will not be here for another 2-3weeks and the car needs to have other things done. (aero, yadda yadda)

With that I was tired of looking at the coilovers laying around and we got some new 22" staggered wheels in stock, so I figured we'd install the coils, mount the wheels and take some pics to demonstrate both. The wheels are VIP

22x9.5 / 22x10.5 with 3.5 and 5" lips
CHROME FINISH (also availible in Black)
HUBCENTRIC for the e65 / e66 (no spacers are hubrings required)
Application specific specs.

They are also reasonably priced, a set with CONTINENTAL tires rings in well under $4,000.00 in chrome.

As far as the suspension goes, I cannot say enough good things about the KW's! Personaly I cannot stand the limitations of springs alone, as each car needs to be fine tuned with regard to stance and dampening to yield the best aesthetic and performance balance. With springs your stuck with what you get when the jack is removed! This car is lowered about 2.5", still rides very well, DOES NOT RUB, and corners like its on rails!!! The VARIANT 3 system is adjustable for compression and rebound, so the ride/handling can be adjusted to the desired rates. Opening the box and finding TUV certification also adds a sense of security in the quality of product. I advocate the use of coilovers all the time, so I had to "put up or shut up" (couldnt just slip a set of Eibachs on there and play it off! lol)

We wrapped up the fine tuning on the install Saturday, and the car truly is a jawdropper. The funny thing about a properly lowered car is, people dont know whats different, so they ask "what ELSE did you do beside wheels?" lol

OH SNAP!!!!! The second time I have seen a white 745i and both with huge rims. Absolutely incredible. That thing looks incredible. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Sorry to go offtopic real quick, but whatever happened to that project Bentley CGT yall had?? Still working on it??

No prob on the off-topic, the GIAC updgrade is done, so its running an extra 100hp now, added the chrome lower grilles (huge improvement), and decided to go with the CARGRAPHIC exhaust (should be here this week). We are bringing all the cars out to Chantilly or Boston HIN (still working out detais now).

Damn Derrick that car looks amazing... Its unreal how just some coilovers and wheels can change the car so drastically for the better... With the aero kit and your other ideas this thing is going to be a beast..
