Slightly updated. You know how Volvo does with midlife updates, barely anything. Then it somehow has to survive for another 4 and a half years without one change.
On to the pics....

The headlights have been rounded a bit.
Volvo's design is so gloriously understated. It appeals to everything in me that's sensible and captious.
The next S80 and the XC90 are at the top of my list of potential future vehicles.

Try telling a girl she's "gloriously understated." She'll know you meant ugly. LOL :D

I reject it with everything in me that's rebellious and not wanting to play it safe or get sucked in to Volvo's bogus image of being a leader in safety.

Yeah I would take that as butt ugly. Something Whoopi's husband would say to his best friend when questioned, 'why on earth?'.
Anyway I've always like Volvo the're different. It looks like the added projectors, they changed the the tail lights a little. Basically they did all the little things that should have been done before the thing hit the market.
LOL...like I said Volvo midlife updates are incredibly minor. But what has changed is the Projector beam headlights, different rear lights, color keyed body molding, lower bumper trim and turn signals in the mirrors.

Volvo's refreshed '07 XC90 to get new 3.2-liter
AutoWeek | Published 03/28/06, 5:30 pm et
Volvo is applying some nip and tuck work to its XC90 ute for the 2007 model year.
While the refreshed vehicle will retain much of its current exterior look, changes include slight modifications to the front and rear bumper areas, with brushed metal-look sill plates adding a touch of brightwork. The vehicle’s front and rear taillamps have also received a slight makeover.
Inside, the interior has been reworked in an effort to up the luxury ante and help it better compete with the upscale competition.
Under hood, Volvo’s new 235-hp, 3.2-liter in-line six cylinder engine, first seen in the second-generation S80 shown at the recent Geneva motor show, will be added to the engine option list. The new engine will likely spell the demise of the XC90’s 2.5-liter, five-cylinder turbo base powertrain.
No word yet on when the vehicle will debut on a show stand, but don’t be surprised to see it on a turntable soon and in showrooms later this year.

You know I know Volvo's standing in the safety arena. That's not what I was talking about.
I'm talking about relative luxury without flash or prestige. I'm talking about luxury for the driver's sake instead of bystanders'.
I'm talking about not being a pompous [explicative]-hole while still comfortably enjoying a commute.

YOUR MY BOY BLUE!!!
I agree but on the other hand, this SUV has done MUCH better than Volvo expected for them and I don't think they wanted to mess with success much.
