As you can see the logo looks just like the Lexus logo except its backwards. Wonder if Lexus will have a problem with this.

Oh the company is Jianghuai (JAC).

Its a cool looking car though.

**SNIFF!** **SNIFF!**

Do you smell that??? Smells like another Chinese rip-off!!! :egads:

It almost seems like that they have no shame in the whole world laughing at their "copy-cat" attempt to get into the auto market.

Whoa! Got to believe that Lexus will have a big problem with it!

All they would have to do is show a picture of this new logo as seen in a rearview mirror.

Just tried it, and in a mirror it looks like it is the Lexus logo!! :eek2:

There's another one (chery I believe) who's logo looks somewhat like Infiniti's.
I don't think Lexus would put up with that . . .

It is a reverse of Lexus logo with a black background while Lexus's is all empty inside. So you can't really challenge that.....tell you Infiniti's logo is like a elliptic version of Acura's. By the way, I like the styling of this red car.....

That is utter copycat bullcrap. And did they slap the old Celica headlights on that car? The rear looks nice.

Looks like the L logo from your rear-view mirror. Complete crap. Someone should find out if Lexus is pissed.

This one DESERVES a lawsuit big time. Nothing frivolous about it here. This is copyright infringement, plain and simple.

So far, there is the Chery rip-off of the Altima, and now Honda suing over similar SUV name and design, I have to believe that Lexus should sue the pants off these guys for ripping off their logo.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but only for a second. This is outrageous what they're doing.

And as I begin my rant, I'd like to say that the copyright infringement occurring in China is a serious issue that the rest of the capitalist world needs to deal with. Piracy from DVDs to computer software and to cars. It's a shame that the term "Chinese copy" truly has a basis in fact. :thumbdn:

My question is, even if Lexus is pissed, is there really anything they can do? We aren't talking about a company in the U.S.A. Are they bound by any of our copyright laws? This is quite outrageous though.

In a country where people's rules overwhelm the law's rules, anything is legal as long as the top few think it's legal.

If they are only going to sell their cars in China, then there is nothing Toyota can do. If they decide to sell outside, to say, USA or Europe, then the lawsuits can fly. And I believe their goal is to sell to the US, so... they better change that little logo of theirs.

Kia and Hyundai have stepped their game up but do you remember when they first came out, they were crap. This chinese car has to prove itself first so I think initially there will be quality and reliability issues if they didn't do their homework. Let's just say I wouldn't buy one in the first few years of production. They might go under like Daewoo did if they have issues.

That is outrageous!

Surely the 'designers' of the logo for the Chinese company knew it had a very close resemlence to the Lexus logo. Leave it up to the Chinese to knock-off everything. The car itself looks like a cross between a G35 (from the front), an Eclipse (from the profile), and an SC430 (tailights).

It's pretty ugly.

Hmmm....I remember that someone did say that the Chinese was even going to call their car
"Glexus" :p :thumbdn:

Thats horrible to see... But you know some idiots may confuse those cars for a Lexus and if thats the case, that car company will get the publicity they so desperately need.

Haha Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen have made cars for decades but they still make cars with lots of problems and reliability issues.......you can't expect too much from such a young new car company. If the price is very competitive there sure are still buyers. What you said might happen, but do you think it is impossible for this company to dominate the auto industry thirty years from now? I think everything is possible nowadays.

Now those are straight copying, and definitely illegal. But car design is different, many many vehicles look alike and you call that copying? To me those two logos are reverse of each other, if a person could be mistaken with them, he/she must be looking in a rear-view mirror. By the way the name of that chinese company is not even close to the name "Lexus", how is that copying? I know many Lexus owners are very proud of what they are driving, but sometimes that pride make them very very stupid.

I was thinking that too! An EXACT mirror-image! :yikes:

Reminds me of the Hyundai / Honda lookalike logos.

If you don't see something wrong with basically the EXACT symbol but in reverse, you must not be of age.

Companies spend BILLIONS of dollars creating image that is easily recognizable and stands out. B/C the avg consumer just looks for the sign/symbol and buys whatever product they sell.

This has NOTHING to do with Lexus pride and you think they are stupid b/c of pride. Where did that come from?
