Wow VW (Vee-duub) :D has been making interesting commercials lately!
But I always expect that guy from Allstate to pop up! Yeah those commercials are scary to watch.

"HOLY... " [cut to next scene]

This may upset people that have been into car accidents. But otherwise, it's pretty impressive that they're showing what will happen in the event of an accident. Scary.

Different, Harsh, Graphic, Crazy, Informative, Controversial, Cocky, Strange, Tasteless, Funny, Truthful, Realistic .......so VW!

Although it's quite griping, I personally think this ad might backfire. Most people don't
want to have their prospective cars shown in a negative light. Something in their
subconcious will tell them, if they buy this car, this might happen to them.

Same way positive imagery works in advertising.

Showing a brand new car running into a truck is not positive reinforcement. Having the
airbags go off is cool, but every new car has airbags so I don't see why the Jetta is any
safer.

Four star saftey rating is not bad, but isn't FIVE stars the best?

it's very good this.

perfectly captures how an accident is just a SPLIT second...and hits you out of nowhere.

very much liking VW's recent marketing.

Very interesting marketing approach. But hey, that's something to advertise. Now if they could only fix the reliability...

Gets the point across that the VeeDubs are good in crash tests, doesnt it? Good job by the marketing firm for taking a different approach other than the standard crash test footage!
