car insurance + other insurance = cheaper than just car insurance?
I was talking to my State Farm agent a few days ago, because I have to renew my insurance on my car (it's been 6 months already...). She told me something interesting. If I get renters insurance (like homeowners insurance but for people who rent their apartment/house), the total cost of renters + car insurance will be cheaper than just the car insurance by itself. The renters insurance was something like $150 for the year, but it would take $90 off my 6-month car insurance premium, which over a year would be $180, which is more savings than the extra $150 I'm spending. Is it possible that I could spend LESS money and get MORE coverage? I just wanted to run this by you guys to see if you thought it was fishy or might be legit. Thanks for your help!
No offense to any insurance people in here, but that's insurance companies for ya.
I'd do it. Question is though, if you get a hit on your car insurance, that technically would jack up your renter's insurance even though they don't have anything to do with each other, rigth?
One time, I tried to insure a car and a motorcycle together instead of individually. The two together actually cost more than to pay two separate insurance bills. Don't they realize that I can't drive them both at the same time?

Ya, but if you did... Boy would that be dangerous. No wonder it was more expensive!
