looks like GB just got their GS450H in these few weeks
Top Gear talked about it briefly in their car news segment too saying that it will never reach 35mpg (british gallons)
stay tuned!
ill update this post with an edit when Fifth Gear gives their verdict
Is that on any US channels ? I don't remember seeing that on tv. I to know Top Gear is on Discovery late at night, I would like to see that episode....

Fifth Gear is on speed channel (or are they just called Speed now?) they used to have reruns on but this year, i think they're only showing it once every few days or something like that. and since i'm in california, they show it at like 4:30 AM!!! so i don't even get to watch it anymore.... time for Tivo
by the way, i think Fifth gear is much more fun than Top gear
the reason why Top Gear doesn't like the Toyota Hybrids is because when they tested the Prius, it did nowhere near its advertised MPG rating, nor did its build quality impress them.
the Prius as far as MPGs go can be outed by diesels in Europe--which cost less since it's one motor and already has a stable and reliable aftermarket service available.
same goes for the Camry Hybrid as well...according to magazines here in the US, the observed MPG is no more than 1 or 2 more miles to the gallon than the standard 2.4L 4 Cylinder engine--which leaves the authors wondering if it's worth the extra premium over a standard 4 cylinder to buy a Hybrid "just because"

not really... neither diesels nor prius can meet their advertised mpg figures in Europe. In fact, Prius did pretty good in many comparo tests in Europe, especially after it was stopped being compared with cars like Corolla Hatchback diesel with 90hp.
But Prius's problem in Europe is taxes and hence even bigger difference in pricing.

i think the hybrids still have the potential
some CL members w/ GS450H are reporting that they are getting better MPG after running their car in after a few months
so any reviews that uses new cars probably arent getting what a normal used hybrids can do
Just watched the show last night for the first time (my PC recorded it), and she's good on the show but man, that guy is the biggest dork ever.
Also, I don't know if Speed Channel edited the show, but pieces were cut off by commercial breaks and it was strange how they went to commercial and came back on in a different short segment on something else...
The main feature of the show I watched was comparing about 7 small utes with the final run off between the Rav4 and a Nissan something or other and the Nissan won. Hope 1SICKLEX wasn't watching.
