A local Mitsubishi dealer marked up ALL their 2006 EVO MR $18k! It put the sales price at a whopping $54k! I have never seen any mark up that high and worst case is someone will be paying close to their asking price.

Reason: changed grammar
Supply/demand... there's still plenty of people with too much $$$$ and too little sense.
Remember when the ZR-1 1st came out?? Some Chevy dealers around me tacked on $20K...calling it a 'market adjustment'. Same thing happened to the Cadillac Allante...for the 1st month or 2. Of course that one really shows how stupid things can get.
Yes...we had quite a discussion about that car. But you still gotta remember three things. First, for a new M, a BMW shop would charge even Chris Bangle himself a markup. Second, while it may sound like a lot to US, this is Beverly Hills.....people there spend that $50,000 markup for lunch. Third, in Beverly Hills almost everything is done for status with little concern for cost. Cars that are marked up some 80% over what they cost the dealership are simply part of the cost of living there.....unless you want to cheat and drive off to a cheaper BMW shop way out of town ( which in SoCal can be an easy 100 miles )
