I doubt that many people who buy Bugattis or Ferraris will put a child seat in the front anyways. It's not functional, and it's not the most efficient way to transport a child/infant.
God bless America. Land of endless litigation. No wonder why we don't get
any of the other cool cars here.
Isn't there a loophole for exotic car mfgs. to allow them to make cars which
don't have to follow every single nanny law in the book? Sure safetly should
be a concern, but if you are in a car that can go over 170MPH and do 0-60
in under 5 seconds, you pretty much have thrown the safety book out the
window when you drove the car off the lot.
EDITED: 170MPH. Typo.

I often put my son in a booster seat up front in my NSX. Truthfully, with the passanger seat all the way back and the way the airbag deploys in an upward direction some Acura dealers have stated/agreed that the airbag wouldn't come near the child in a deployment anyway unless the restaints fail. Eitherway, I personally have no problem taking my son around in the front seat of the NSX, but I wouldn't do it in many other 2 seater cars. It just deepends on the airbag location and the seating position for me.
sorry, but how much does the bugatti cost? and they could not have proper airbags?
And the cost is funny to - are they going to invent, design, produce and implement airbags?
No, they will bring supplier and they will use off the shelf components.
its really ridicilous that car worth 1 million has airbags from 90's.
actually the reason that the bugatti is so damned expensive is because it DOESNT use anything fromt he parts bins. it does share the same design as basic components such as airbags and probably seat belts but thats because its one less thing to get certified. and this is for NEW regulations, ie-regulations that the original designers and current manufacturer of Bugatti Veyrons didnt know about when they first started producing the car.
im pretty confident theyl get an exemption, hell Ferrari got one not a year or 2 ago on the claim that few if any small children or women sat in the passenger seat of the F430.

sorry bro, they dont manufacturer airbags themselves.
They have supplier that does it for them. Same as with any other company in the world.

I think the Veyron is airbag compliant to the point that it is safe for adults and children to use.
The big problem is that if someone ever decides to put a carseat in the passenger seat, it can cause injury to the child.
The main reason why it will cost a lot of $$$ to fix is that they need to redesign the seat and interior and airbags to "sense" a rear facing child seat instead of an adult.
Why should it be expempt? WHO THE HELL PLACES A SMALL CHILD IN A BUGATTI TO DRIVE THEM TO DAY CARE?!?!?!
You don't buy a ton of bricks at Home Depot and use a Prius to haul it.
You don't travel across country on a Lotus for comfort and luggage capacity.
And you don't go driving on a Bugatti to transport your infant from one place to the next.
