I mean, Chevy is involved in this series...the IS would be great in this although i think Lexus doesnt have an engine that would qualify for this series 4cylinder 2.0L
perhaps when the supercar comes out they can compete in the FIA GT series, but i figure as a stop gap, the sedan/touring car series would be a good way to give them exposure.
This series is huge in europe, it's just amazing to watch these races and see the support for the national teams as well as the manufacturers (even chevy)
This is a fantastic idea...thank you for bringing this up.
I have gone to these races that are regularly held every year in Puebla, Mexico (they talk about it on that site) and they pack the house. They are immensely popular here even over other more promoted motor racing events.
Those SEATs get a lot of press and it has been really helping them sell cars down here. This practically the only strength in motor racing that SEAT has.
Thus, it would not take much for Lexus to step in and take control.
so it does exist in the Lexus/Toyota lineup...nice. but i think for them to homogulated it they actually have to put it into production; be it a limited production run to make it a "mass produced" car.
and toyota is doing OHHHHHHHHHH so well in F1 too.
I'm suggesting an alternative to get the brand name out to the public, heaven forbid Lexus competes in a highly competitive class.
How bout they enter the German DTM? That's all big V8's high tech saloons. At least SOMETHING that can showcase their hardware instead of seeing them fumigate the race track more times than they finish.

that's what i was talking about. they have the capability with their lineup to enter races like this, and it will get them a lot of exposures for sure
im glad you see the big picture rominl, start small and work your way up to the big show, because crash course learning in the pinancle of racing is expensive in both tangible and intangible ways.
oh yeah i am totally with you. seeing how lexus put their cars in races here in the US and in japan, i think that's exactly what they need to do in europe as well to bring their name out -- to tell people that lexus is not just about luxury and comfort. there is a sporty side of it, which imho has a bigger impact in europe
