I read this article in the Charlotte Observer today and I thought it gave a very good comparison of the two radio services and why you should choose one or the other. If you're choosing a service maybe this article will help you. Here it is:
or you used to be able to get a temp trial of them both by visiting there website so you can listen to each of them on your comp to decide i chose sirius
I have had sirius for over 2 years now and really like it alot. I really dont listen to regular radio much, and Howard Stern coming to Sirius was a big bonus

Stern? You listen to that garbage? Oh well...some people think the 80's Heavy Metal I listen to is garbage as well.
Several of you seem to think Sirius is better. Does it cost more..or do the rates vary by location?
XM subscribes to more of a jukebox model, providing long sets of uninterrupted music on many channels. The theory is that since song and artist names appear on satellite receivers' displays, most listeners just want the tunes, thanks.
This is why I prefer XM. I've only ever had both services in rental cars, but the incessant chatter on Sirius (even on the supposed "non-stop dance mix" channels) was distracting and detracting.
