If any of you watch tennis at all, the US Open is currently happening in New York. Lexus is an official sponsor and they have some pretty great ads, my favorite of which features a nice, big, sexy new LS.
Take a look

I'm not a big fan of car commercials that doesn't show the car.
Out of the three, only one shows the front of the LS460 for about 3 seconds.
They could have done a better job on these ones...

They have also been running new GS 350 ads that show the car in virtually every frame, ripping through downtown NYC.

They could have done a better job on these ones...I agree. Hate commercials that keep wasting viewers' precious time in totally irrelevant stuff and shows everything but the actual products themselves.:thumbdn:

brand awareness you dont have to put your car in, people know Lexus is a car. If mercedes did a similar commercial you dont have to show a car either

Well, they only air during the US Open. These ads just raise brand awareness in the same way placing Lexus logos are the tennis nets do; they don't have to plaster a car there or anything. In the same way, Rolex ads that air during the US Open feature Roger Federer playing tennis, and only show little of the watch themselves: everyone knows what Rolex is, they're just showing how the company could be useful primarily to the viewer at hand, the tennis player. And in this way I think these Lexus ads are pretty genius.

lexus must be dishing out so much dough to sponsor US Open so completely
I personally like the commercials.
People are right, prestigious brands don't have to show product.
Plus, everyone will instantly recognize "Mr. Lexus" distinct voice
which is extremely effective in itself.

If it helps my wife hats almost all car company ads.
She really like the ad with the uses for old tennis balls.
I still liked the non Lexus pong ads better (probably relates to us over 40 types).
a Couple of very lucky tennis balls are hanging in my garage now!! :D
There are probably more US Open Lexus courtesy vehicles than taxis in the city right now. Most of courtesy vehicles are hybrid models, GS450h and RX400h, but they are also using LS430, ES350 and LX470. Haven't seen any IS models or any new 07 LS.
