Yes, hard to compare apples to apples here, but I'm coming up with the BMW being about $1,600 more (Base 335, auto, park dist, Premium, Cold Weather, Comfort Access, oops, missed the NAV)...
Ok, $3,700 more for the BMW - but of course you SHOULD order the sports package on the 335 so now you are at a $5,300 premium to the IS. Should be interesting to see how it sells as I'm coming in at $50,600 for a nicely optioned up 335. Ouch.
edit - I had almost the same features specd out for a 330 last year and was at about $46K for a 330 with stick ($1,200 savings) but with Sirius ($595 upcharge) - so it looks like they had a pretty significant price increase.

scary thing is no matter how expensive it is, ($50k+), there will always be someone willing to pay for one. Even scarier is that no matter how much people bash the 3-series for being too expensive, relative to the IS-series, the 3 will keep on dominating sales in its category.
was 5k more than the MSRP of my IS spec, thats with the manual, if you wanted auto + paddles it would be 1400 more. I didnt see nav offered only a CD changer
comparing the entry lux sedan market the combined IS/ES sales already beat the 3 series, seems like that many people dont really want a sport focused entry lux, theres no real euro entry car that can go toe to toe with an ES in lux, every one of them is focused on sport

If there's anything I've learned, go for the middle ground. Buying base gets you nothing and going full out breaks the bank. I always though the 325i was a good compromise of efficiency, power, price and features.
not sure on the new 328 pricing, lower model always outsells the higher trim anyways, its around 230 hp now, not bad

strange when you make a 335 vs 328, both similarly equipped, the price is extremely close, the $1200 Logic7 audio thats standard on the 335 and optional on the 328 + the more expensive premium package on the 328 narrows the gap of the same configuration very close
335 sedan:

If I was to buy a 335i (coupe or sedan), There are only three things that matter to me..
1. Manual
2. HID
3. Sport package..
the rest I do not care for and save the $ for something else..
I can't access the bmw site at work. Can somebody be kind and let me know how much the 335i (sedan and coupe) are with ONLY the above features. Thanks in advance.

Your 335 coupe in Crimson Red (non-metalic) with Manual and Sport (HID is standard) will set you back $42,295
I HIGHLY recommend getting the BMW Assist as it not only includes 4 years of service but also gives you the bluetooth wireless for your phone which is ohhhh so sweet - especially when you are going to be rowing the gears! Add $750 for this.

But since you're in Cali, the cost savings (minus plane ticket) may not be worth the hassle.

You will likely need that Assist more so on the BMW than on a Lexus, and a quality/reliability gap does still exist between the two. It's all relative.
