View Full Version : Do Lexus Owners own more than one Lexus? skiptomylo 09-28-06, 03:45 PM Just wondering how much brand loyalty you guys have. I have a Lexus and I plan on having my next car be a Lexus as well. Lexmex 09-28-06, 04:33 PM I plan to keep my RX300 going for as long as I can. I would like my little RX300 to have a Lexus friend beside it, but will have to wait until I go back to the U.S. KneeShoe00 09-28-06, 04:47 PM Had : Toyota Corolla, 97 ES, 97 SC Now Have : 94 SC, 96 ES, 07 Camry :) tmf2004 09-28-06, 05:21 PM current....97 ES, 99 GS... I'm always debating about selling the ES but its a really great car... O. L. T. 09-28-06, 05:35 PM Yep. This past year I have had a vette, porsche, bmw, Mercedes Benz, etc...... BUT I have always had my Lexus by their side. Last week I had 3 Lexus total, but sold an IS300 and replaced it with an MB. BLK13X 09-28-06, 09:41 PM B that's not like you is it? Trading in a car instead of adding to your collection tsk tsk haha :p Erm, I know JDM Soarers aren't officially Lexus branded (but for this I guess I'll classify them as they are)... I've owned two Soarers consecutively and I was close to buying a '99 GS300 with all the fruit. No doubt I'll keep on buying Lexus (or Toyota), thinking of getting an LS430 in the next couple of years. aliti19 09-28-06, 09:53 PM We've got 3 in our family. (see sig) I'm trying to get my hands on a 5-speed SC300 as well. 1SICKLEX 09-28-06, 10:55 PM ES 300 to SC 400 to GS 400 back to ES 300 to RX 300 to GS 430...we never got rid of any... I also have Lexus drawers, condoms, shirts, towels, hats, seasoning, sofa...lol J/K... Gojirra99 09-28-06, 11:01 PM The SC430 is my first Lexus, but I will definitely get another one. I believe I will always have at least one Lexus in my garage from now on. :) rominl 09-28-06, 11:02 PM camry, made a mistake with the acura tl-s. got the gs400, then is300, and now sc430. new LS is in sight. that says a lot rominl 09-28-06, 11:03 PM The SC430 is my first Lexus, but I will definitely get another one. I believe I will always have at least one Lexus in my garage from now on. :) to make sure you don't ride on loaners? :D AsianGirl007 09-28-06, 11:14 PM I had a '99 RX300, '02 ES300 and currently drive '05 IS300. Next one is '07 IS250. I don't plan on going anywhere else for awhile. 4GRAINR 09-28-06, 11:15 PM I'm thinking of adding another Lexus to my family. I bought the GS after five years in my 4Runner. Sold the 4Runner to make room for the GS. Now I'm already thinking about an SC430 (black and mean like Dan K's), LS430 (suicide doors with VIP styling?) or an older SC (roadster. yes. it is possible!).:D encore888 09-28-06, 11:22 PM I also have Lexus drawers, condoms, shirts, towels, hats, seasoning, sofa...lol J/K... I believed that until I saw the J/K for some reason, lol. We have had Toyota, Benz, Lexus...here and there... 1SICKLEX 09-29-06, 12:50 AM I believed that until I saw the J/K for some reason, lol. Got tired of Bangle crap... Just bought two Lexus... :D But, I'll probably return to BMW... depends on what the next models going to look a like... ;) Lexus makes nice car in good price range and all... But it just doesn't drive like BMW!! :D ultra63 09-29-06, 07:53 PM currently IS250 AWD RX400h LS430 Euro Dx3 09-29-06, 08:13 PM I have a 98 GS400 and a 97 SC300. Wouldn't drive any other car  Jonny ShadyJC 09-29-06, 09:45 PM I've presently got an 01 LX470 and a 03 GS300... used to have a 93 SC400. Will probably always have a Lexus around. trent 09-30-06, 12:57 AM Presently have a 01 IS, and a 06 GS300 patiently waiting to see if the IS500 will be a reality.;) CK6Speed 09-30-06, 03:19 AM I've only had a 93 SC400, a 94 ES300 and an 04 RX330. I have no problems getting another Lexus if they have the right car for me at purchase time. I also have no problems going to another brand if they have what I want/need. Lexus will always be one of the first brand I'll look at though. doug_999 09-30-06, 07:57 AM I personally think that Lexus does not have a good progression for owners. By that I mean.... If you are in a RX350 and need a bigger vehicle you have to go to the GX. Well the reason you bought the RX350 in the first place was that it was easy to get into, drove like a car and handled good for its size. Your next move if you want to keep these same traits? Over to an MDX or XC90.... If you purchase an ES350, you bought the car because you wanted an entry level luxury car. Your next step up?.... unfortunately you have to go all the way to the LS (IMHO). The GS is for a different type of person. You can argue that the IS owner can upgrade to the GS - that does work. But there is no where to go after the GS (I just don't see the typical GS owner wanting a LS). The new LS600 might change that however. For me, as a GS owner, I wanted something the same size but with more sport/fun. A sports package on the GS might have done that - but alas, Lexus does not see the need for that. Back to BMW..... MB and BMW on the other hand (and even Audi and Acura), seem to have a very progression orientated lineup. Obviously they are more focused brands and that means that a lot of owners will not even venture into their product line. Anyway, that's my 2 cents and the reason we went from two Lexus cars to none. blacksc400 09-30-06, 01:12 PM 4 SC400, (92, 92, 93, 95 ) 1 Sc300, (92, 1JZ show car) 3 IS300, (2001, 2001, 2003 Manual) 1 LX470, (1999) 1 RX300, 1998 1 RX330, 2004 1 LS430 UL, 2002 1 GS400, 1999 1 GS300, 1994 Sorry no Es, casue it is just a reskinned Camry.. Talking about royalty?? :woohoo: My next car? maybe a modded 01LS430 or I will just get a 05+ LS and mod it myself!! :D GSteg 09-30-06, 01:25 PM I'm the only lexus in the family. My next upgrade would be a mercedes E55 or a BMW M5 :D This is my first and last lexus i'll own :( Och 09-30-06, 01:47 PM I don't think I'll ever own anything else but Lexus. I had a 94 GS300, have 2001 GS430, and my 94 LS400 was stolen on wednesday :( I'm planning to gen another LS400 and replace the GS with SC430. However if I ever have spare cash for a sporty toy, I'd get an S2k or Elise. And maybe Alfa will come to the US, their concept looks like pure sex on wheels. http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/images/large/2421-3.jpg http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/images/large/2421-4.jpg mavericck 09-30-06, 02:27 PM Just one for me, well my wife. Ice350 09-30-06, 02:49 PM Had 99 ES that was traded in for 06 GS300. Still have the 95 Platinumsc300....planning to keep it forever....or until I get an offer I can't refuse. praetorian180 09-30-06, 03:07 PM My family has a 98 sc300, a 2005 ls430, and a 2006 rx400h. But my dad isn't feeling the new ls460 (likes the s550 or a8) and the rx400h has this bizarre rattle from the backseat that longo lexus can't fix, so my mom is probably going to change it up at the end of next year. And they are selling my sc300 since I'm away at school all year and only drive it on breaks (god knows what I'm getting). So in a year and a half my family might not even own a lexus anymore. skiptomylo 10-03-06, 10:33 AM Seems like Lexus has done a successful job in building brand loyalty. vraa 10-03-06, 10:35 AM Seems like Lexus has done a successful job in building brand loyalty. Because the cars work :) Oh yeah, count me as another multi-unit owner. LIVN XL 10-18-06, 12:14 PM I've had a 91 LS and a 93 ES before. Currently I have a 97 LS, 99 RX and an 01 IS and will be adding one more to my Lexus fleet...the AWD 07 GS in a few months. STIG 10-18-06, 12:36 PM this is my first and last lexus. Nao1008 10-18-06, 04:10 PM IS300 >> IS250 AWD RX330 and TM share holder:) MSMLexIS 10-18-06, 04:35 PM The only Lexus my car shares space with is my moms LS430 but im thinking of buying an RX300 as a companion car as soon as i pay this one off. Trexus 10-18-06, 05:51 PM Just look at my sig. My next vehicle I'd like to purchase is the next generation Tundra... Hartawan 10-18-06, 05:53 PM Is350 Rx330 Dan_K 10-18-06, 07:10 PM I'm thinking of adding another Lexus to my family. I bought the GS after five years in my 4Runner. Now I'm already thinking about an SC430 (black and mean like Dan K's), LS430 (suicide doors with VIP styling?) or an older SC (roadster. yes. it is possible!).:D Zach, you are too nice. Like many here, did the german car thing and although I may go back, there will be a Lexus in the garage. As for now, the '03 SC is the toy and the '04 LS is my "mature" car which I will never modify despite what some say (cough cough Henry cough cough Mark cough). I am super interested in the new LS though. :) chiawei 10-18-06, 07:57 PM had- 93 camry, 98 sienna, 01 IS, 01 RX. have- 04 Sienna I am a fully converted to BMW. I will probably buy another Toyota for daily use to drive family around. But will probably not buy another lexus. DASHOCKER 10-19-06, 07:41 AM I like purposeful vehicles that fit a specific niche. Lexus does not fill every niche, thus cross brand shopping is necessary. Ice350 10-19-06, 05:03 PM Who was that member that had something like 10 lexus cars? Is he still around? cloudnine 10-19-06, 08:18 PM I like to have a choice of Toyota products to drive every day and I'm quite happy with my current automobiles. But I'd also drive Subarus for reliable transportation. Or a turboed Miata or Elise or 911 for fun. RNM GS3 10-19-06, 10:34 PM My Lexus cars: Current - 05 GS300 Previous - 02 GS300 Family Lexus Cars: Current - 05 LS430, 06 RX400h Previous - 99 RX300, 04 RX330 Lexus are nice cars and I love the 2nd gen GS, but besides the GS none of the other Lexus models have what im looking for. The LS, for example, is a great car but it gives u ZERO pleasure to drive it. Im kind of surprised so many CL members want it. Its 50/50 if i will buy a Lexus again. |
