Default 2008 Volvo V70 surfaces on the web

We're not sure if Volvo officially unveiled its new V70, but AutoWeek.nl and Auto Motor und Sport are showing the new wagon on their websites, and with a little translation help from Motor Authority we can bring you the details. Looking for all the world like, well... an S80 station wagon, the new V70 sports a new skin keeping in step with the brand's design language that only makes a passing gesture to the slab sided boxes of yesteryear. The rear of the V70 sports Volvo's trademark vertical taillamps that extend upward from a wide base, and the rear glass shape hints ever so slightly at the unique shape of the C30's hatch, itself an homage to the original P1800. Interior space have apparently grown in every which way thanks to a body that's larger in every metric.

Not a bad looking car, but it doesn't do much for me personally.

Nice....... cabinet. Is that IKEA?

Looks like a Subaru Forester to me. The "VOLVO" letters are too wide spreaded. Doesn't fit the "low profile" image of Volvo.

I was going to say the same about IKEA

I really really like the interior and side profile. The V O L V O letters should be put together.

That hollow dash is a neat design. Other than that, nothing exciting

I hope the new gen volvo are built better b/c the prev. gen has a cheap feeling everywhere-from dash to doors. It doesn't feel "safe "

if they took that red reflective part that goes up the c pillar i think the rear would look pretty decent.

Exterior doesn't do too much for me. Looks like it's trying too hard to be like a 5 series touring. But the interior... Sweet. Volvo does GREAT seats!

I think I saw their U.S. Jan sales figures were only 7K total for all models though.
