Rather than focusing solely on sticker price, IntelliChoice.com uses multiple criteria such as depreciation, maintenance, repairs, fuel costs and state fees to analyze the value of hybrids. Against these criteria, buyers can expect a lower cost of ownership in relation to the price of that vehicle.
Bell added that some observers might wonder about the inclusion of hybrid vehicles on the same list as the Hummer H3, which makes IntelliChoice.com’s Best Overall Value list for the first time.

Intellichoice has strange categories. The IS is the best in the near luxury class yet the G35 is the best sports sedan under $38k? Also the ES350 is the best value in the luxury class yet isn't a fully loaded IS350 more than a fully loaded ES350?

Toyota/Lexus did well because they have always been a value brand. They do not offer many car choice configurations for the U.S. and build a ton of them to get the price down. So yes, some of the models are better value than others but you get what you pay for. There is no free lunch. 
I doubt the LS 460 will ever be a good value, but it will always be an awesome car.
