Joe - first serious entrant - congrats! :thumbup: Picture is a bit slanted, possibly the camera was just on some available surface. Anyway, you can rotate the pic a bit to fix that. It's also on a day with some pretty crap weather! :p But GOOD ONE!

Well, here's an oldie. Not crazy about the picture, and I'll work on a self-portrait, but I love the irony of this one. Note the title. Both title and photo by my about-to-be former art director.

Thanks for the compliments/criticism bit. It was about 40degrees and rainy that day, and i just put the camera on the timer and ran over to the rocks and sat down... but I was happy with the way it came out! Camera was a Fuji Z1. The camera has since been stolen :(

OK guys, time to step it up, think outside the box. First, take a new picture for this assignment. No posting snaps taken by others. This isn't just about seeing what you look like. :p

Try something other than a traditional portrait. Can you do a handstand? Take a pic of yourself doing that. How about hiding part of yourself to make it a bit more intriguing? How about making a face? Wear make-up? A funny hat?

LT. LEX - love it. :D Now find a better setting - the ceiling fan is distracting. And amp up the contrast and sharpness - you'll love it.

going to Alb NM, down the highway, canera hanging out the window. terrible idea but not when i took it. i tried to adjust the contrast, so i put my wife in the picture to contrast my ugliness ;)

Am really not too good with the photography hobby, especially since I only have a crappy point and shoot Olympus sp310. My previous pic on page one was taken with a tripod while on a cruise ship, was just clowning around. This one I just set on a bookshelf or something(cant remember where I placed it ) and set the timer.

Yeah I thought I might have been off...

But I just took Bit's advice and cloned out the background, amped up the contrast and sharpened it to death. Sorry I don't remember the specifics. I just kinda played around with it until I got something that looked interesting. I used Corel Paint Shop Pro X.

RC devices made this soo much easier than slinging a corded remote or self timer. If not for the EXIF data which I didn't kill, I'd have you believe the TLR Yashica did the shot. ;) Alas...the G6 is the culprit.
