Yes, don't be shy, let's see those self portraits. Doesn't have to be 'all' of you. ;)
Be creative, not just a 'cheese' snapshot. :D

View Full Version : Assignment by April 31st, 2007 - self portraits bitkahuna 03-29-07, 12:12 AM Yes, don't be shy, let's see those self portraits. Doesn't have to be 'all' of you. ;) Be creative, not just a 'cheese' snapshot. :D RA40 04-02-07, 10:09 AM I like the "cheese" snapshots. ;) I'll post this for now: :egads: From our day trip to San Diego at Hotel Del Coronado. Joe C 04-02-07, 12:55 PM http://photos-510.ak.facebook.com/ip006/v23/155/55/26901305/n26901305_30174510_6681.jpg hopefully this works... a picture of myself taken by myself. xknowonex 04-02-07, 02:48 PM passed out on the couch. more like a candid shot http://a141.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/6/l_17059d0ee08140331b7d92265655e3ac.jpg bitkahuna 04-02-07, 09:17 PM Good start guys! x - yours wasn't exactly a self portrait! It may be of you but you look to be in no shape to have taken it. :p RA40 - we'll call you Trinity and Morpheus. :D Joe - first serious entrant - congrats! Picture is a bit slanted, possibly the camera was just on some available surface. Anyway, you can rotate the pic a bit to fix that. It's also on a day with some pretty crap weather! :p But GOOD ONE! Lil4X 04-02-07, 11:26 PM Well, here's an oldie. Not crazy about the picture, and I'll work on a self-portrait, but I love the irony of this one. Note the title. Both title and photo by my about-to-be former art director. http://www.clublexus.com/gallery/data//500/2fatmen500.jpg 2 Fatmen bitkahuna 04-03-07, 10:06 AM Namaste :D Joe C 04-03-07, 12:10 PM Thanks for the compliments/criticism bit. It was about 40degrees and rainy that day, and i just put the camera on the timer and ran over to the rocks and sat down... but I was happy with the way it came out! Camera was a Fuji Z1. The camera has since been stolen :( trukn1 04-04-07, 11:59 PM Who ever knew a truck driver could clean up so well?? skribblez 04-05-07, 01:08 AM My girlfriend and I. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y90/azienboytimmy/nessa945.jpg bitkahuna 04-05-07, 08:00 AM OK guys, time to step it up, think outside the box. First, take a new picture for this assignment. No posting snaps taken by others. This isn't just about seeing what you look like. :p Try something other than a traditional portrait. Can you do a handstand? Take a pic of yourself doing that. How about hiding part of yourself to make it a bit more intriguing? How about making a face? Wear make-up? A funny hat? GO FOR IT! :D :D CptnTonus 04-05-07, 01:15 PM How about making a face? How about, a ticket to the gun show! :eek2: http://vanish70.nsfabrication.com/Me%20066.jpg That was taken with my old Nikon P&S using the 10-sec timer. Seize 04-05-07, 01:26 PM Since I'm somewhat of a 'watch-nut' I like taking pics that emphasize what I have on my wrist :D http://www.pbase.com/mr_seize/image/71434916.jpg http://www.pbase.com/mr_seize/image/50821520.jpg bitkahuna 04-05-07, 02:45 PM Great stuff guys!!! Seize - love that second one! LT. LEX 04-06-07, 07:59 AM Here's a face for ya. Oooh so ugly!! http://reggiemiddlebrooks.zoomshare.com/files/me_with_contrast_Medium_.jpg bitkahuna 04-06-07, 10:40 AM LT. LEX - love it. :D Now find a better setting - the ceiling fan is distracting. And amp up the contrast and sharpness - you'll love it. asimo 04-08-07, 10:18 AM Wish they have this in walmarts...... http://farm1.static.flickr.com/247/449544826_a26e10da61_o.jpg okiaristo 04-08-07, 11:18 AM going to Alb NM, down the highway, canera hanging out the window. terrible idea but not when i took it. i tried to adjust the contrast, so i put my wife in the picture to contrast my ugliness ;) trukn1 04-09-07, 06:56 AM Am really not too good with the photography hobby, especially since I only have a crappy point and shoot Olympus sp310. My previous pic on page one was taken with a tripod while on a cruise ship, was just clowning around. This one I just set on a bookshelf or something(cant remember where I placed it ) and set the timer. bitkahuna 04-09-07, 08:30 AM going to Alb NM, down the highway, canera hanging out the window. terrible idea but not when i took it. i tried to adjust the contrast, so i put my wife in the picture to contrast my ugliness ;) Your wife is beautiful. What the heck is she doing hanging around with you? :p tytgs300 04-11-07, 02:38 PM this is me y'all http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j115/2530/6.jpghttp://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j115/2530/6.jpghttp://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j115/2530/6.jpg http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j115/2530/anh3-00.jpghttp://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j115/2530/anh3-00.jpghttp://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j115/2530/anh3-00.jpg bitkahuna 04-12-07, 08:00 AM tytgs300 - as you can see, we're all speechless. :D Seriously though - love the pics! First one is very clean, sharp, balanced. Do you model for a living? E-Z ES300 04-12-07, 08:39 AM I know you guys wanted SELF portraits but... I did not take this myself, but it IS a picture of me! :) http://i17.tinypic.com/2m7uhra.jpg 4evDev 04-12-07, 11:41 AM tytgs300 - Wanna get married??? tytgs300 04-12-07, 12:49 PM tytgs300 - Wanna get married??? horny bastard, that's not me :p that's a friend of mine from NJ im learning how to shoot studio portraits and and lighting techniques so im just using those, taken by pros, as references okiaristo 04-14-07, 03:38 AM horny bastard, that's not me :p that's a friend of mine from NJ im learning how to shoot studio portraits and and lighting techniques so im just using those, taken by pros, as references :ban: you broke the rules... tsk tsk bitkahuna 04-14-07, 11:53 AM horny bastard, that's not me :p that's a friend of mine from NJ im learning how to shoot studio portraits and and lighting techniques so im just using those, taken by pros, as references Man I think should ban you. :p For that you'd better post a SELF PORTRAIT and QUICK! sprayin IS 04-18-07, 12:33 AM when you said painted face i thought of this picture of me about a little over a year ago :D as soon as i get some more batterys for my camera i get a new better self portrait sprayin IS 04-18-07, 09:34 AM Look how ugly that kid is^^:D any ways back to the portrait. just watchin a little tv in my house...:uh: skribblez 04-19-07, 04:41 PM I know the picture is kinda blurry, but my girlfriend keeps moving on the bed so I just couldn't keep the camera steady enough. http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u34/timothybui/4-14-07/DSC_0121.jpg bitkahuna 04-20-07, 09:30 AM Team - need to step it up. Be more creative. A self-portrait doesn't have to be all of you, or a typical head/torso shot. I'd say Seize has you all beat by a mile with this awesome shot! http://www.pbase.com/mr_seize/image/50821520.jpg MattSEG 04-22-07, 12:26 AM Here's a face for ya. Oooh so ugly!! Pic of you That's an awesome shot. What's your post? LT. LEX 04-22-07, 12:55 AM That's an awesome shot. What's your post? I believe you're asking me where I am stationed...If so, I'm at Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Japan. MattSEG 04-22-07, 12:59 AM ha, no. But very cool. I was asking about post processing, sorry. LT. LEX 04-22-07, 03:24 AM ha, no. But very cool. I was asking about post processing, sorry. Yeah I thought I might have been off... But I just took Bit's advice and cloned out the background, amped up the contrast and sharpened it to death. Sorry I don't remember the specifics. I just kinda played around with it until I got something that looked interesting. I used Corel Paint Shop Pro X. bitkahuna 04-22-07, 02:00 PM Here's a face for ya. Oooh so ugly!! http://reggiemiddlebrooks.zoomshare.com/files/me_with_contrast_Medium_.jpg Hell yeah, THAT's what I'm talkin' 'bout. :D Good edit! RA40 04-23-07, 03:32 PM Ok...it's been a spell since I did a self-shot deal. A quick grab shot... http://www.michaelfongphotography.com/files/por1.jpg RC devices made this soo much easier than slinging a corded remote or self timer. If not for the EXIF data which I didn't kill, I'd have you believe the TLR Yashica did the shot. ;) Alas...the G6 is the culprit. Woogie 04-23-07, 06:13 PM RA40, Haha i really like this picture quite a bit. Brick mounted on a 5D, yeah? Stage3 04-23-07, 06:56 PM http://farm1.static.flickr.com/185/468975952_08398b0270_o.jpg :) tytgs300 04-24-07, 01:27 PM those are beautiful cameras bitkahuna 05-02-07, 07:32 AM Well team, this assignment didn't get going as well as I'd hoped but thanks for the contributions! I declare a tie between Seize and LT. LEX for best entries. |
