I am an insurance agent, and I always see client trade in their 7 because they are tired of taking it to dealer for repair... 3 of my friend had the 7 with all of them under 40K miles, and they complaint about it all the time...

Last time in Greater Nevada Auction here.. There were 4 lanes are specially for 7s... all lemon cars and factory buy backs... One of my client is a Chinese Car Dealer and he bought 20 of them for bring them back to sell in China, and he said these car are nothing but troubles and he personally doesn't want it at all, but Chinese people are crazy over it...
Several people here on CL own them and fortunately do not see all the issues that blacksc400's clients are having. CR does report it to be worse than average - however remember, that does not mean it does not start.
The head of my dealer's service dept reported that the 2002/2003 models were terrible, but starting with 2004 they became much much better.
In short, the car had way too much technology in it for 2002 (2001 to be exact). It just wasn't fully tested and proven.
