As you know from before, Volkswagen is looking to add more new models while reducing cost. To do that, Volkswagen will be looking to take some lessons from it’s premium brand, Audi using their modular architecture strategy. Well it seems like the first vehicle from that collaboration will be a new four-door coupe Volkswagen, otherwise internally known as the CC or I/O 511.
With a length of the four-door coupe Volkswagen measuring nearly 4.90 meters, the car will most likely use the platform of the Audi A6. The base model is expected to have a 2.0 liter engine producing 150 horsepower and another 2.0 liter turbocharged engine producing 200 horsepower. The top of the line variant is expected to have a 3.6 liter V6 engine producing up to 260 horsepower.
The four-door coupe Volkswagen is said to make its debut at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show with sales to begin later that Summer.

I know some of you guys like that "4-door coupe" humpback-whale look, similiar to the Mercedes CLS, but have you ever sat inside a design like this and tried to see out with those little, slit-hole windows?....not to mention having to tilt the seat back as well to clear the low roofline. Even with well-designed exterior mirrors and diligent use of them, when changing lanes, you can get big blind spots.....and sometimes an accident waiting to happen.

It's actually not that bad mmarshall.
I compared the CL and the CLS side by side and they're almost identical in length and rear leg room.
However, you do have the advantage of the extra 2 rear doors for easier access than having to lift the front seats and crawl through the back.
And if anyone complains of no room in the back should be shot. You don't buy these cars for roomy back seat:p

I like both models though & won't mind having either of them . . .

Rear headroom in the CL is little better(higher) b/c it doesn' slope as much as the CLS.
Leg room is about the same.
I agee, both are nice, but I like the CL more though.
Looks pretty good. Again, don't price it in the audi territory:D

Sorry about squashing everything into 1 sentence.
The previous w215 CL, not the acura CL version:p
And I was referring to the new VW coupe not to be priced in the audi territory(as in the phaeton failure), although audi doesn't have a 4 dr coupe yet...right?
