As of 2008 there will be a new procedure to determine projected gas mileage. You can compare the old rating to the new one for all vehicles (new and used).

EEK GX470 horrible gas mileage

I wonder how the LX570 will fair when it comes out probably still horrible. Honestly I hope Lexus comes out with hybrid LX and GX, to increase the horsepower and better fuel mileage.

GX470/LX470/LX570 going to get like 15mpg. If they had a hybrid probably be like 20-21 mpg which would be great for a big SUV.

Wow, the Prius went down by 9 mpg. From 55 combined to 46 combined. :eek2:

Still great gas mileage, but definitely takes away from the image of how "fuel efficient" it's supposed to be.

My car went down. 18/26. I got 28-30+ on the highway at cruising speed though. I guess that's not bad for over 300 hp/300 tq.

Yep, that website has been up for a while. It is very accurate. Worlds over the old EPA ratings thank god.

The new rating is much realistic than the old one. But tad bit on the conservative side IMO. IS 250 rwd is shown 24 combined. But I drive 80%+ in city and getting about 24mpg. 50-50 probably will yield around 27. Specualatio at this point since I have not tried out long highway drive yet.

Not only are these ratings more accurate compared to the average real world economy, but they're also more consistant.

While car A may be rated at 20 combined, and car B may be rated at 25 combined... you very well may get 25 combined in car A and 31 in car B... but the relative difference is still there.

Right, its better to be conservative than optimistic when rating fuel economy. You will have happy ppl vs. angry ppl.:p

Right the spread is whats really important.

now this should have been the rating all along!

It's on target of what I actually get (combined mileage).

The new ratings are going to further hurt truck sales.

Around my area, 46mpg is about what the "average" Prius driver is getting because of all the hills . Meanwhile, I'm currently sitting at 60mpg with 200 miles on the tank :D.
