I've been keeping my eye on Lewis Hamilton since the beginning of the season considering he's been consistently qualifying in the top 4. Fresh off his first ever Grand Prix win last week in Montreal, he grabbed P1 in the USGP over Alanso. Not to mention that he's never driven or even been to either one of the tracks that he's qualified P1 and won at... This kid is the real deal. I think he might be the successor to Michael Schumacher... Crikey!

Yea he's really running away from the others in terms of success esp. as a rookie. Very impressive.

#7 for Vettel (BMW Sauber) isn't bad while he's subbing for Kubica. But what's happening to Kimi? He started off the season really strong, but he's been slipping a bit lately.

Crikey might be right if he was Australian, but I believe he's British. :D

he is proving to be more than just hype. I will wait after the first season to decide if he's got Schumi potential...those are huge shoes to fill

Seven starts, seven podium finishes including wins at the last two races, this kid is going to be good, just what Formula 1 needed.

every one on speedtv already calling him the Tiger Woods of racing.

he's really good and really lucky to be in the best team this year. most suprisingly, Fernando Alonzo can't keep up with him.

most suprisingly, Fernando Alonzo can't keep up with him.Actually, Fernando kept up very well. He had never been more than a couple of seconds behind Hamilton throughout the entire race and almost passed him at one point. It's just that passing is not an easy thing to do, and Fernando said he felt that he was faster but was simply blocked. Fernando did set the fastest lap time in qualifying too. I say the battle for the championship between Alonso and Hamilton is far from over.

I agree... the rest of the season is shaping up to be a battle between the two McLaren's. I don't think it's right to just hand to the championship to Hamilton, but you have to agree... if luck stays with him in qualifying the way he's done for the first 7 races, he's in a MUCH better position to win than Alanso is.

Did you mean that Alanso set the fastest lap time in practice? If he would have set the fastest lap in qualifying then he would have started at P1. :)

I'm really impressed by this kid. I really am. Yes I also do believe he is the tiger woods of racing and I really love that he is polishing his racing shoes on Alonso's arse (can't stand the guy).

Before I sign over as a #1 fan for life though, I would like to see how he handles a season in a sub-par car and how he handles a crash. These things change drivers, and he is really young. I wanna see how his mental fortitude holds up. He is good, but does he have balls of steel?

im sorry but i disagree.

indy is considered to be one of the easiest place to make a pass especially on the straightaway. yes, i agree alonzo made a move in the middle of the race but after that, he bobbled and made a couple of mistakes and never again made a threat to hamilton.

anyway, did you see how pissed off mark webber against trulli?
