A new car, still with the protective layer on the hood (Probably with some quality defects or mechanical damage.).

What a waste:(, they could've dismantled the RX for parts or fix it up and ship over to me!:D

I could have used it as a test bed for modifications for the 2nd gen RXs.

I may have missed it...what was the reason for this?

Maybe some illegal import...

Noticed that the tow "eyes" had been screwed into the front bumper. Doesn't look like it arrived under its own power. That or the owner had had it towed so many times, he was tired of removing and reinstalling the eyes.

Russia hates Lexus, the oligarchs like their Maybach's and Mercedes

Actually Lexus Russia is the #2 largest market for Lexus Europe sales, and growing fast. Russia loves their new Lexus cars!

Those are protective wheel covers that are used only during shipping. They allow the vehicles to be shipped without worry of the wheels being damaged. Depending on the vehicle, they might be thin plastic or heavy duty ABS.

It doesn't make sense to destroy it if the car has electrical gremlins. There are SOO many different things that can be salvaged from that car to make money... the wheels for one. Unless it was covered in Saltwater, there is really no reason it couldn't have been stripped first.

Smirnoff is owned by the British and distilled in England or the US. It would be Stolichnaya over there :p

NOOOOOOO! Just like most places that jook you out of your car they have no time to part out the car, find buyers and ****. They'd rather crush the cars and sell it as scrap. For instance here in Chicago there was a front page stor yin the Chicago Sun-Times where a lady left out of town for a couple months or so and came back to find her car missing. Turns out the city ticketed her various times, put the boot after a while, 24 hours later towed the car and then sent it off to have it crushed. The owner only had it for less than a few months. Still owed 16k on it! And she still owed the city for the tickets!!!
