i also doubt the piggy back ecu was the cause of the problem...

Vishnu ECU causing serious problems on 335i???
Most never heard of this problem and dont believe him (could possibly be the first case), while others say problems like this have happened to many people with the Vishnu ECU for Mitsubishi EVO's. Read on...

My Uncle installed this unit and had serious issues with his car leading to a new set of cats and a new main ECU thank God he has a good contact at BMW the bill would have been upwards of $10,000 to repair. The tech told him they have seen this on several cars that Vishnu piggyback ECU's have been installed on.

Fwiw - i've met shiv (owner of vishnu) in real life. Seems to be a kool guy but at times but his tunes (at least on evos) seem really strange with higher (some deem unsafe) afrs and funky boost profiles. He has a wickeed 997 porsche tt tho

This isn't surprising at all. Nothing against Shiv at Vishnu... but what do you expect from raising the boost on a stock motor? There is always a risk of something going bad when you increase output of the motor by 55-60hp. And not just that, sometimes bringing too much boost on too quickly can harm your valvetrain. BMW doesn't overbuild their motors to the extent that the japanese have with their turbo motors.

2. Shiv is actually in the thread
3. Page 7, kid says he's sent emails and gotten no response.
4. Shiv says "I am checking, I see nothing, respond to my PM, I will check this ASAP"
5. Kid has yet to respond.
Got damn internet tools. Kid has a 7 page thread on a car not even his and doesn't even have all the facts. Shiv is IN THE THREAD. What more could you want.
Also, there are going to be some problems, its expected, its aftermarket.

speaking of vegas i took my xb to vegas 2 weeks ago to see how much i save on gas by taking a smaller car but you are not going to believe this...the xb actually drink more gas than the s550
the xb use 1 full take to get to vegas from LA when the s550 use less than half of the tank thanks to the 7 speed

This is the kids "uncle" who has had the problem. He is about to leave to Israel and cant be reached. How convinient.
There are so many 335s out there with Procede chip, (including my car) yet there is an incident with a person who can not be reached.
The company owner/tuner offered his help publically on the forum and the thread got closed.
This is a very fishy story which I do not believe at all.
