View Full Version : 2008 Lexus prices and new features (IS, RX, GX, LS, ES, SC) combfilter 07-27-07, 10:17 AM http://www.autospies.com/news/Lexus-Announces-Prices-on-2008-RX-400h-SC-430-GX-470-IS-250-350-ES-350-and-LS-460-18216/ PhilipMSPT 07-27-07, 11:18 AM Interesting. No word on the GS460... STIG 07-27-07, 11:24 AM So GX will still be 470 not 570? that's pretty lame if you ask me. They are not going to do the face lift and engine upgrade at the same time. PhilipMSPT 07-27-07, 11:35 AM So GX will still be 470 not 570? that's pretty lame if you ask me. They are not going to do the face lift and engine upgrade at the same time. No facelift/restyling yet for the GX. The LX570 will get the limelight for '08. The GX570 will get the limelight in '09. Mr Johnson 07-27-07, 11:49 AM Interesting. No word on the GS460... Or the IS-F. Sigh... Let's see if pricing is discussed at the drive events in August. GFerg 07-27-07, 11:50 AM Interesting. No word on the GS460... Yea. A good indication that something more than just new colors and a price increase is coming. Lexus probably feels it deserves its own press release (same with the IS-F). :) DASHOCKER 07-27-07, 11:59 AM More of the same:uh: Be more aggresive Lexus corporate. MPLexus301 07-27-07, 12:13 PM No facelift/restyling yet for the GX. The LX570 will get the limelight for '08. The GX570 will get the limelight in '09. GX does get a refresh this year. encore888 07-27-07, 12:48 PM Yea. A good indication that something more than just new colors and a price increase is coming. Lexus probably feels it deserves its own press release (same with the IS-F). :) Here's hoping that's the case. :D SoCalSC4 07-27-07, 04:43 PM The SC and the LX are extremely long in the tooth. What's the status of their replacements? Lexus needs the LF-A as soon as possible. Halo cars are good for the brand! I hate to say it, but with BMW and Mercedes introducing new models and variations (i.e. 3 series coupe/sedan/cabrio, etc.)... not to mention their M-Power and AMG variants... Lexus will continue to get creamed in these segments. Where is our IS coupe and cabrio? When are they going to get serious about injecting the GS with some excitement? "You're killing me, Larry..." (SoCal residents will recognize this phrase) :boring: Threxx 07-27-07, 04:49 PM Interesting info, thanks! A side observation, though: anyone else notice that Lexus has an extreme ability to take what should be words like "new", "changed" and "update", and replace them with words like "enhancement", "upgrade", and "improved"? One basically just says "we changed something mostly in looks, and you may or may not like", which is accurate to say when they change the grill or change an available color of paint, or different wheels of the same size, or new wood color, or whatnot... The words they very often use tend to moreso state "this is an improvement" which I think you can really only say if either almost everyone agrees that it looks significantly better, or you can judge some form of technical improvement in the way the car performs. akhi2003 07-27-07, 05:01 PM Lexus when can we expect cooling seats in GX/RX? Lincoln Aviator/Navigator has those seats from 2003 model year. You don't need to wait until you do complete update to the vehicle to add these features. It is high time that Lexus add these features as well as heated seats in the 2nd row. I totally agree with socalsc4 regarding IS Coupe/Convertible. The current IS is in its 3 model year and how long we need to wait to see those models. Wake up Lexus.:egads: Threxx 07-27-07, 11:03 PM Lexus when can we expect cooling seats in GX/RX? Wake up Lexus.:egads: Lexus has several things in their model lineup that are just flat out unacceptable by industry standards. Another one: lack of xenon lights in the GX. For the longest damn time I heard people on this board tell me "oh but Lexus says it sits too high so it will blind people". I told them - well, we'll just wait and see what happens on the next gen GX and LX... I bet they'll have xenon lights. Low and behold, I guess now Lexus is using new anti-blinding xenon lights on the new LX, because it sure still sits up plenty high.;) GS3Tek 07-28-07, 12:41 AM Lexus has several things in their model lineup that are just flat out unacceptable by industry standards. So what's their excuse this time? Lexus has been  for awhile on some of these issues. 1SICKLEX 07-28-07, 11:49 AM Guys, that is the initial release. The GS 460 and IS-F are coming. TRUST ME (again).... Gojirra99 07-28-07, 11:52 AM Coupes !! We want more coupes from Lexus !! . . . Gojirra99 07-28-07, 11:53 AM Coupes !! We want more coupes from Lexus !! . . . I wouldn't mind (& will consider) coupe versions for the IS, GS & LS, yes ALL of them !! flipside909 07-29-07, 05:41 PM Guys, that is the initial release. The GS 460 and IS-F are coming. TRUST ME (again).... Listen to Mike. He's not lying. :) Amazing how everyone reads between the lines. All the radical speculation is what makes bad rumors start. 1SICKLEX 07-30-07, 11:33 AM Listen to Mike. He's not lying. :) Amazing how everyone reads between the lines. No word on the GS460... :sad:Nobody has any word on the GS 460:uh: f.azim@gul 07-30-07, 12:03 PM Lexus is taking its time with the IS-F and there is no official word on whether or not there will be coupe version of the IS-F, which will be a better competitor for the M3. Also, it seems the LF-A will not be ready for sale until 2010 or early 2011:cry:. At this rate the Europeans would be WAAAAY ahead. Already the Merc C3 AMG packs a serious punch with 450 horses and the CLK black series is already producing 500 HP! The Ferrari F430 in its latest and lightest form is good for over 500 HP and the replacement, the F460 will in all likelihood be at least 550HP. The F460 is an incredibly handsome car from the early pictures. If the Lexus folk take their good time introducing their offerings, I am afraid they will be bringing out products that are already outdated and overpowered by the Europeans who are constantly upping the ante. TRDFantasy 07-30-07, 12:16 PM The reason Lexus is taking such a long time with the LF-A is because it's the first supercar Toyota has ever made, and because they want to get it as close to perfection as possible. As of today, LF-A prototypes have been testing at the Nurburgring and other race tracks worldwide for at least 2 years now. They will keep testing for at least another few months or so before the car starts to make it's way into production. Same with the IS-F; it's being extensively tested because it's a new kind of high-performance car Lexus has never done before. With that said, expectations are quite high for both the IS-F and the LF-A given the amount of time they are taking :p:). 1SICKLEX 07-30-07, 12:20 PM Lexus is taking its time with the IS-F and there is no official word on whether or not there will be coupe version of the IS-F, which will be a better competitor for the M3. The Europeans are ALREADY way ahead in regards to higher performance cars, another year or two ain't a bad wait.:) Don't expect Lexus to trump all with the IS-F and LF-A their first times in this segment. f.azim@gul 07-30-07, 01:01 PM 1SICLEX and TRD, you are both right. It is just not easy to wait for products as promising as these two cars. But as they say, all good things come to those who wait:) MSMLexIS 07-30-07, 03:58 PM Didnt Lexus announce that the IS-F will go on sale in Dec. PhilipMSPT 07-30-07, 04:17 PM Didnt Lexus announce that the IS-F will go on sale in Dec. Actually, January/February 2008... GS3Tek 07-30-07, 04:19 PM But as they say, all good things come to those who wait:) Be careful with that statement. "All good things come to those who wait, only to have what's left from what everyone took first":D Professor told me that and is now stuck in my head whenever that comes up.:p The good thing is lexus is taking their time to do all the testings they need, but don't take too long now:p |
