"Rocket Ranger" Claims Title of World's Fastest Diesel Pickup

Here she is, the world's fastest diesel pickup. The Rocket Ranger, laden with SPAL USA modifications, averaged more than 215 mph during Bonneville Speed Week.
The Rocket Ranger hit an average speed of 215.091 mph in the C/Diesel Truck class. That was nearly 2 mph faster than the previous record.
Modifications to the Rocket Ranger include Hypermax intercooled series turbochargers, injectors and a Mach 7 performance module, as well as dual SPAL USA 12-inch high-performance cooling fans and a ZF six-speed transmission. Hypermax Engineering's Max Lagod was behind the wheel for the winning run.
Alternative-fuel Ford products made headlines during Bonneville Salt Flats Speed Week this month. A Ford Fusion with a hydrogen-powered electric motor topped 207 mph in a record-setting run there.
