Hrm. Not sure what to say. The S5 looks absolutely amazing - those LEDs are so striking it's really a beautiful design. My dad has an S4 and that engine (which is even better in the S5) is really nice. Still; kind of crazy the 335i can keep for 15% less money.

S5 owns. Beautiful, V8 grunt, better interior and it's not a dime a dozen 3 series.

15% isn't that much in this class of vehicle, especially considering the S5 gives a nicer interior (IMO), more striking and unique looks (again, IMO) and AWD.

I don't think I'd blame anyone for preferring either car, really.

My only problem is that the lease rates will inevitably be somewhere between terrible and OK whereas the 335i's rates are great... that's what would make the decision for me as I wouldn't want to own either car.

It's not? People go on and on about a few thousand $ when they talk about the G37, IS350, 335i, A4, A5, etc... The difference between the S5 and 335i/G37/IS350 etc is (likely) going to be better than 8-15k (depending on which car you compare to) stateside. I guess it's all relative.

Eh... the 335i when moderately equipped is a 45-50k dollar car. The S5 will get even more expensive than that. I just don't think most people shopping in this class of car are going to let the difference between 45-50k and 52k-57k stop them from getting the car they prefer unless it's a wash anyway. I dunno about you but if I'm considering dropping that much money, I'm going to get the one I prefer even if it takes a little more $$.

But as mentioned - I'd be leasing and the 'little bit' becomes a whole lot more when you factor in the difference in leasing rates between the two vehicles.

granted BMW would handle better, id rather opt to get this as an all round superior package on wheels... flawless precision in engineering, build quality and craftsmanship inside and out, materials, aethetics, physical appeal, superb handling dynamics, and more of a luxury performance executive coupe that just beckons to be in my garage..:D

Hey, that's a normal A5 with the sports package it seems. Looks exactly like the S5.

The Audi has the rarity factor, compared to the 335i. And it looks great and fresh. I know the S5 is way more expensive than the 335i but if I were spending the money, I would make the stretch for it.

Definitely better than the CLK, anyway.

Np, but I think it'd be more fair to compare the S5 to the M3. From a tuner POV, the 335i looks like a better package to me. From a looks point of view, it may be the S5. Those of you that harp on German reliability/maintenance must realize the BMW comes with both of those free until 4yrs/50k miles.

I dont agree..in all fairness and honesty - yes i agree the comparison between the S5 and 335i isnt rational...

but the S5 should be compared against like a CLS, or a 6 series bmw...it exudes quality, and beauty of an upscale luxurious performance executive coupe.

and then when you look at its price versus those other 2 - its a steal of a value.
