Ferrari Meets Gumby in Wacky Stretch of the Imagination
Rocking horse: Style Limousines' stretched Ferrari 360 Modena.
Home, Jeeves! The Style Limousines Ferrari 360 Modena stretch limo will be on display at the European Limousine and Chauffeur Show.
Stretch Ferrari limo, all 23 feet of it, will be just the thing for the wedding-and-prom crowd.
Ferraristi may shield their eyes, but it was only a matter of time until someone stretched a Ferrari this far.
MANCHESTER, England — It's being called the "world's first stretch Ferrari," and at 23 feet long, it's unlikely that anybody is going to challenge that claim. The black Ferrari 360 Modena carbon-fiber stretch limo will make its public debut at the European Limousine and Chauffeur Show in Birmingham, England, on September 16.
The stretch Ferrari is the brainchild of Style Limousines in Manchester and Carbonyte UK. It is said to have a top speed of 170 mph and sprints from zero to 60 mph in less than 6 seconds. The modifications cost over $400,000 and include six extra seats and 9-foot gullwing doors. Its creators said they nixed the stereotypical "neon and minibars found in other limos."
Style Limousines says the stretch Ferrari is bound for the Guinness Book of World Records.
The Limousine and Chauffeur Show will also feature what is being described as Europe's "biggest stretch Hummer," outfitted with 10 wheels and "props" from Arnold Schwarzenegger films. Appropriately enough, it is dubbed "The Terminator."
What this means to you: A stretch Ferrari is either the ultimate dream ride or a shamefully irreverent take on the Prancing Horse brand. You be the judge.
