Interesting...
Although it is "less luxurious" than other BMW products (the interior is all cloth and plastic), I would definately love to feel its performance (hey, you're paying for the engine anyways).
This will definately make a splash...
I'd prefer it'd come in hatch trim. A coupe that small just doesn't really look right. That guy looks so cramped in that cabin. I mean I'm a small person I could probably sit comfortably in that car but the rear seat space is a joke (like almost all coupes are anyway). It'll definitely be a performer but as a DD I'd rather take a 335; much more comfortable, better looks and practical. As a hatch it's got a bit more room and would look less awkward. How come we don't get the cool hatchies!?! I guess most Americans don't like hatchbacks/liftbacks.

i wont be caught dead saying "Yea I paid mid 30s for this" when a 335 sedan is a few thousand more. 1 Hatch looks a ton better
Yea pricing is another thing, it's way too close to 3 series territory.
The interior isn't half bad for something that is bottom-line-entry-level-luxury. It's a clean design not too busy and still has some nice clean curves, unlike some interiors that are blocky and chunky and look really crappy (something straight from Hertz).
If it was a hatch I would probably consider buying it but it's not; the coupe is fugly. The convertible even worse (because I hate canvas on cars).
Hot hatches are making a return (R32, new STI) and I think BMW missed the boat when it came to bringing the 1 series to the US.

I still don't like the Rear end of the 1-series.
the rear of the hatchback is much more sensible imo.

This car in 135i form, comes with 6 piston calipers up front and 2 piston in the rear standard along M-sport suspension(unlike the 335i). This car will be a track star off the showroom floor:thumbup:
Ya, if they offered it in a hatch I'd really like it. I don't mind the coupe, just not for me.

I definitely prefer this one more than the hatchback. I don't mind both versions come to the U.S. though.

I bet if the coupe and convertible sell well here we'll see the hatchback

And the odds of you ever buying a BMW product are?
