Thumbs up DINAN: Releases It's 384hp/421tq Mod For 2008 335!

4yr - 50k warranty from BMW. And It's only $2k!!!

Those stats and pricing easily makes the M3 a hard sale...

I still say this car is probably the best bang4thebuck potential for a "nice" car on the road.

"The Dinan Performance Engine Software increases the boost from 8.8psi to 13.2psi which increases power to 384 hp and 421 lb/ft torque. This is an increase of 52hp and 96 lb/ft of torque. When a Dinan exhaust (rear mufflers and middle exhaust wit X-pipe) are added the output increases to 392hp and 429 lb/ft torque. This is an increase of 62hp and 103 lb/ft of torque. The top speed governor has also been removed to allow the car to reach its full potential."

Wow @ the value factor with the way they implement it + warranty offer.

But when they say "this is an increase of 62hp and 103 lb/ft of torque", on which basis are they making the comparison? The stock 335i outputs just 300/300 doesn't it?

i dont mean to hate but the gains seem to be 45whp or so, at the most.
it is cool that they offer the factory warranty though.

i wonder how reliable the procede v2 cars will be?
its good to see such potential from the 335 though. it's slotting itself perfectly under all the cars who have gone way upmarket (c63, m3, is-f, etc)

The 335i puts out more like 330 flywheel hp despite its 300hp rating. I'm not sure if this is for insurance reasons in some countries or maybe due to not wanting to tread on the 333 hp M3 when it was still for sale, or maybe to give the factory room to turn down boost on cars if they started to have reliability issues without making themselves look as bad?

I dunno... but it's definitely underrated from the factor. This is around a 50hp and 90tq gain from what I've seen, which still isn't bad if it's under warranty.

Anybody know if this is 'compatible' with leases or does it still void the terms?

does this qualify for having the "DINAN" badge or would I need to dump more money? I have never liked Dinan but the warranty gained my respect somewhat.

E90 (yes, I like the 4 door better) 335i is looking more and more like my next car...it'll be a while though LOL.

Yeah, that's the best part about it all, IMO.

It is NOT a factory warranty. Dinan just covers it. If you blow the engine BMW isn't paying, believe me.

As for the M3, there is MUCH more to an //M car than the engine (brakes, LSD, usually totally different suspension parts/bushings, etc.) Moreover, no matter how good the Dinan package is it won't have the flexibility and responsiveness that a multi-throttle body NA engine has. My biggest concern would be the fact the factory 335i's can't seem to be driven really hard without overheating. Increase boost and raise temperatures and I can't imagine it would be a car you could take to the track without overheating issues. So, plus the $2k for the software package you have to add at least $2k for an LSD, $2k for suspension, and $4k for brakes. The website talks about a bigger oil cooler and water pump changes to deal with the heat but I don't think that is in the software price which says $2k and 1 hour of labor.

*In order to qualify for Dinan’s matching new car warranty coverage, which includes consequential damages, the vehicle MUST be equipped with either a factory oil cooler (not all 335s were equipped from the factory with an oil cooler) or Dinan’s High Capacity Oil Cooler (recommended).
Figure another $1k at least for the oil cooler (especially through Dinan). So with all of the stuff above you are in M3 ballpark with a modified vs. factory car (e.g. worth less). No doubt for sheer acceleration it is great bang for the buck.

Agreed, Steve Dinan is a *****... and I won't say that about many people.

He is good at surrounding himself with talent, however, and for the most
part the stuff he puts-out is good.

The car sounds like it's a real beast!
