The front bumper, side skirts, and rear bumper are changed. The front bumper, especially, with those F1-style upturned areas, but the side skirts and rear bumper are a little less obvious (rear gets square-shaped exhausts instead of round) And, I've got to say, it looks WAY uglier than before.

Its certainly a strange F1 inspired look.

The depreciation on these small convertibles are unbelievable.

Mercedes interiors have really hit rock bottom lately...

This, the C Class, and IMO the ML and GL have horrendous interiors. S and CL are nice but I don't care for the design at all.

I still don't like what they've done to this car. I liked the original one because the design was pretty coherent and organic. Here they have stuck square pipes, sharp angles, fanged turn signals, and creased split noses onto a smooth and organic design and it just doesn't work.

Got to love the red leather though, Lexus needs to offer that option.

Are they imitating the look of the F1 car.

Well, the big news here is that the MB 3.5L V6 has 305 hp. Finally competitive with other engines in its class.

The 3.5-liter V6 in the SLK350 gets a boost in output to 305 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. Fuel economy is improved with both the six-speed manual and seven-speed automatic gearboxes. The supercharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine in the SLK200 Kompressor receives a bump to 184 hp and 184 lb-ft. But the 5.5-liter V8 in the SLK55 AMG is carried over with no major changes.

It would be a good sports roadster ...... if it costs $32k.

Really? What interior is this SLK's bad compared to!? :uh: I was also in a ML500 recently and I thought the interior (light colored) was stunning. :thumbup:

And I was in my neighbor's E class the other night - LOVE that interior. The 'halo' light on the ceiling is really cool. :D

I have to see more pictures of it with the top up to render final judgement, but I don't think it looks nearly as elegant as the R171. The lines don't work for me, I'm not a fan of the split bumper or the wheel arches (which I don't like on current-gen either but seem worse now, and look hideous with overhead lighting as in one of those pictures with the silver SLK).

I actually love the idea of a hardtop roadster, as I hate the road noise of soft tops at high speed, and really grew to like the R171 styling. This is definitely a step down though. :thumbdn:

I've only grown to like the SLK more as it has evolved. I thought the first gen was too soft and feminine, which is something they changed with the redesign, and this is more of a freshening than a redesign. I think it looks good, but I guess I'm in the minority here.

Do you mean the R171 redesign? Because even though I've come to like it better, I actually thought they made it more feminine than the last gen ;) I just don't have a problem with that.

That v-slit in the front isn't doing it for me.

Also worth noting inside is that they turned most of the silver-finished buttons back into normal black buttons. I wonder why they did that; I quite like the silver buttons on our SLK.

Yeah, thats what I mean. I just think that the sharper lines of the 171 make it look less feminine. But thats just my opinion.. :)

I like the red leather seats, but the rest of the interior is not my thing. The dash and center console look very plain.
