Detroit Auto Show: Volkswagen Passat CC Four-Door Coupe Live
Volkswagen needs a bit more luxury and, with the less than stellar performance by the Phaeton, you may be looking at it. Chris Doane, our intrepid photographer, managed to grab views from the floor of this new sleek coupe. Getting the jump on Ford, VW will be offering the Passat CC exclusively with direct injection engines "worldwide." That means the US will be getting a 200 horsepower 2.0 liter TSI and 280 horsepower V6 FSI. All of the V6's will be offered with full-time 4MOTION all-wheel drive as standard equipment.

MPLexus301 01-13-08, 12:30 PM It looks like a crossbreed between an Accord and CLS. From some angles, I actually see Buick.

UberNoob 01-13-08, 12:44 PM i quite like it

that isnt very professionally done
DASHOCKER 01-13-08, 12:50 PM OMG. This is a Chrysler Sebring. This car looks like rubbish.

MPLexus301 01-13-08, 09:45 PM it really does look like the sebring...lol
Solo_D33A 01-13-08, 10:00 PM Sebring! lol
PhilipMSPT 01-13-08, 10:22 PM Not coupe-ish enough for me.
Perhaps if it was a hatchback (alla Rapide)?
Gojirra99 01-13-08, 11:15 PM Does not look like a 4-door coupe a la CLS at all, it's just another sedan
Interior seems nice though.
Exterior has some good angles and a few bad ones that make it look like a Chrysler from the rear. The interior is very nice, one of the nicer ones I have seen. Volkswagen can do nice interiors though like the Toureg, Phaeton, older Passat.
It looks nice (Peugeot 407), but whats the point?
Stretched Hyundai Elantra tails
LexBob2 01-14-08, 08:44 AM IMO the Passat looks nice. Also, IMO, VW needs to improve their quality/reliability scores and get their pricing in order before they can really be successful in the U.S. and Canada again. On their more upscale cars, the pricing has crept up into Audi territory making it an easy choice as to which to buy.
1SICKLEX 01-14-08, 09:16 AM Acura RL/Chrysler Sebring Thing.....
These pics are a lot less flattering than what I saw before. This looks pretty bad. VW can't seem to design anything outside of a hatchback.
bitkahuna 01-14-08, 06:11 PM I like it!
From the back it looks a bit like a last gen ES330. I also saw a bit of MB CL in the front.

.
1SICKLEX 04-05-08, 10:35 AM It will now just be called "CC".

1SICKLEX 04-05-08, 10:38 AM My two cents:
It is ridiculous we have ANOTHER non luxury brand that refuses to use a name for their car, instead using letters or numbers.
I saw this car at the autoshow last week. I take back what I said previously. This car looks great!! Its a lot lower and sporty than I previously thought. The rear end is a little chunky(ridiculously big trunk :eek2:) but its so much better than these pics. The two toned interior looks absolutely amazing as well.
