First off I am curious what the most anyone has gotten as a discount when buying a new Bimmer. Second, is that a standard thing or does it vary from dealership to dealership? I went by Desert BMW of Las Vegas and started asking some questions. I didn't get a really great response from the sales guys.
you can usually get some sort of discount on the cars they have on the floor but they're in some color that doesn't sell as well as others and the options are usually not that impressive. as for ordering one to your liking, i doubt there's a discount unless you know the manager or something.
Desert BMW??? Their customer service sucks!!!
They are the reason I sold my bimmer, and not getting the 335i!
what you can do? they are the only one in town.

Agreed, you guys all know my experiences with Desert through my BMWhead roommate - both his 328i and now his 335i. The sad part is that the reason they can get away with such poor customer service is that masochists like my roommate are such BMW fanboys that they won't consider other brands anyway. Sure makes me happy I am sticking with Lexus.

Like Mercedes and Porsche shops, that's what BMW dealerships, in general, were like for years.........full of arrogant, aristocratic snobs. But that is changing, especially in my area. Walk into more and more of them nowadays and you will be treated courteously. One of the nicest sales reps I ever dealt with arranged a test-drive of a 335i for me several weeks ago so I could review it for you guys. It looks like Desert BMW is one of the Old-Guard holdouts. It won't be like that for long....if it keeps up like that it will soon be Desert-ed.
It all depends on the particular model you're looking at, the dealer's inventory, your geographic location, etc.
I remember being offered nearly 8K off MSRP on brand new BMW M3 convertibles a few years back in Chicago during winter, and that was before any sort of negotiation.
If European Delivery is an option for you, you can also get pretty good discounts vs. Standard pricing.
When my g/f was shopping between IS350 and 335i late last year they were offering the remaining '07s are invoice and '08s $800 over. Not sure what the discount is but the sales lady said that was what we could get at the time.
that is funny. Winter of 06' was when I bought my IS350 and they wouldn't do jack squat for me at BMW. In fact they said this, "I will give free tint and floor mats." I told them they just lost another customer. The arogance of Desert BMW means I will never buy one of their cars. At least not from them. They treat their customers like complete morons.
That true, I've seen what some are paying for base model cars and they think their worth it cause it's a BMW, my local Dealer is good but you have to be well informed and patient, cause they will put you in a pre-owned 325 with monthly payments that will buy you a new loaded 335 you just have to know when to say thank you and walk out
335's are moving really well right now at the current price....you aren't going to get much off. That is probably why they weren't too interested in talking.
