"Topping our list of the Best CPO vehicles are the Honda Accord, Toyota 4Runner, Acura TL, Subaru Impreza and Lexus GS.

Making our list of the Worst CPO vehicles are the Saturn Relay, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Pontiac G6, Volkswagen New Beetle and Mercedes-Benz E Class.

...

The CPO Lexus GS comes with a loaner car, 24-hour roadside assistance and trip interruption service (If your vehicle breaks down while you are away from home, this will cover reimbursement for meals, lodging and rental for a certain period of time, while your car is under repair) under its three-year/100,000-mile standard warranty."

interesting "interrupt service", didn't know about it before. so are they saying none of the other lexus CPO cars have that?

I'm sure all the Lexus models offer such service. But by what I know, you have to certain miles away from home (I think it's more than 100 miles or so).

that's what i thought too. in that case i don't understand what makes the gs better than the other lexus

The same reason as what makes the E-class worse than other MBs.

To get a comprehensive list, we did not use multiple vehicles from one brand, but took the best of the bunch. So if one company had two vehicles that could make the list, we chose the top-ranked car from that brand, based on our measures, to include on the list.

That's dumb, they should have just included all the cars instead of making it brand-based. Or at least made the data available (maybe I missed it).

its based on a 3 yr study right?

so its the 2005 GS model that its referring to?
so thats still a 2GS instead of a 3GS?

that's what i thought too. in that case i don't understand what makes the gs better than the other lexusAlthough I don't have any data to support this theory, but I'm guessing the fact that the GS is one of the worst-selling models in the Lexus lineup has to do with it. With lower demand comes a lower resale value, which translates into a better buy as a used car. Again, just a random theory.:)

At any rate, kudos to Lexus for making even the CPO owners happy.:bigthumbu

i believe the roadside interuption is 200 miles away from home to a max of 300 dollars a day

This is all dependent on location I believe. Even though we had a Lexus Link Button when it was available, the service itself wasn't available in my location. As for the loaner, I don't get that one either. In most cases you still have to request and sign up for one just like any other car dealer. They don't just give it to you with out asking.

What exactly is meant by best or worse, are they referring to the CPO warranty that is offered or the car itself:confused:

Im actually suprised that the E-Class is on the bad side. I thought the new Jeep had been built alot better this time around too. The top of the list is expected though.

This is partly countered by the fact that, on the whole, Certified Used cars cost more than Non-Certified ones, for several reasons. Obviously, the inspection, refurbishing, and detailing process for a Certified car costs the dealership money, and it comes with a unique warranty, although, from what I have seen, the actual results of the Certification process are a little overhyped.

The '03 - '05 E-Class models are notorious for having a bad reliability record.

That's why I got an '08 Henry :D

In all seriousness, my wife's '07 E350 was rock solid for the 2.5 years she had it. Only one minor issue which required a software update. Build quailty was excellent, not one rattle.
