Default 2008 Lexus IS250 SR - Sport Version for the UK market.

Sporty new Lexus IS 250SR turns on the heat for summer (UK)
  • Sports style at high value price
  • Standard features include
  • Full body kit and 17-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels
  • Aluminium sports pedals and scuff plates
  • Heated front seats
  • On sale from 19 May, priced £24,990 (manual) and £25,800 (automatic)

Hot in the wheeltracks of the storming IS F comes another new Lexus, the IS 250 SR. This sporty addition to the IS range expresses its performance credentials with a full body kit and 17-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels on the outside. Aluminium scuff plates and pedals add subtle visual enhancements on the inside. Heated front seats are also fitted as standard.

The IS 250 SR is designed to deliver some of the sporting allure of the IS F and IS 250 Sport at a high value price. Based on the entry-level IS 250, the new model is packed with features that have a combined customer value of more than £3,500, yet the price tag is less than £1,000 greater model-for-model.

Key standard features include 10 airbags, climate control, cruise control, smart keyless entry and engine start and sequenced LED interior lighting.

The car’s already powerful lines are enhanced with deep skirts to the front, rear and sides and a rear spoiler. Owners who want an even more sporty statement can specify five-spoke 18-inch Tsuki rims.

Powered by a 204bhp 2.5-litre V6 petrol engine, the IS 250 SR will accelerate from rest to 62mph in 8.1 seconds (8.4 with the optional six-speed automatic transmission) and progress to a top speed in excess of 140mph.

Three exterior colours are available: Velvet Black and Cadoxton Slate and Argento Ice metallic finishes. All are matched to Worcester Black interior fabric trim. The IS 250 SR is on sale from 19 May price £24,990 (manual) and £25,800 (automatic).

I love those seats. They like to hug you around turns.

I just wish sports packages are more than just cosmetics.

Heated seats. Damn them! The one thing I really wanted in mine. Virtually the only difference, cept for those garbage can wheels.

Does the 250 6MT not have heated seats?

Nice. They need to bring these Euro/Japan special editions here.
Europe needs the 350 as an option, not 250 then jump to the IS-F.

Is this suede leather or cloth? I know the old IS had suede.

Probably suede. They feel nicer and seems fit for a car like this. Even the 'fabric' seats in the 2nd gen GS are not the typical cheap fabric. They're more suede-like.

Did I miss something? Where's the 'sport' in this version? Another reason for 3-series drivers to chuckle.

Where are the suspension upgrades and the supercharger? A bodykit and aluminum trim does not a sport version make.
