your daily commute + wherever else you go everyday.

I'm putting a lot of choices to try to get an accurate reading.

I'm averaging around 75ish. 65 for the commute, 10 just driving to the store, restaurants etc...

0 now, but soon to be about 6. The job I got is just far enough that I can't ride my bike. It makes me mad to think about it, but its not worth me getting run over by a car.

yep-I'm in Houston and there is no possible way to ride my bike to work - zero bike lanes on my route - it'd be a wonderful workout - about 25 miles each way!! :p

I currently average 62 miles a day. Over the last three years, I've gone from telecommuting with 5 - 8 monthly trips of ~250 miles (in a day) to now commuting with occasional trips (3 x every 2 months) up to 400 miles in a day to client locations. Could a full electric work? Only if I had an additional vehicle capable of a 400 mile day.

From 1994 to 1997 I rode my bike to work daily - 40 miles RT, one hour and five minutes each way. I could not do this now and I would be glad to if it made sense. I got hit on my bike in 1997 and have not commuted by bicycle since then.

Daily, roughly 42-50 miles. If I go see my girlfriend, that number rockets to about 100-120 miles.

14 miles, so the gas price doesn't really hurt me that much. :woohoo:

I used to drive about 50 miles a day...but now I take the metro to work so that number dropped in half ::whew::...with gas prices the way they are now, walking to the metro might be my next option

On average:

50 miles a day with the car.

25 miles a day with the motorcycle. (Well, typically 300 miles a week, but I ride mostly during the weekends.)

I live about 2.5 miles from work, so round trip is about 5 miles. I put down 0-10 miles though since I may stop off somewhere. Sometimes I'll take a long ride and that could be 100 miles round trip.

On the weekday, I travel very little. I use up about less than half of my tank M-Th but on F-Sun, I will use more than half.

I drive 75 miles a day(round trip) to work but only three days a week. The nearest store is 9 miles away so a gas saver is a must!!

While my campus is only a mile from my place, over the course of the week I average about 30/day when all is said and done. Going to get food, groceries, random running about on weekends adds up.

I voted over 126 miles per day.

Currently I can telecommute one day a week, but my normal commute to work is 80 miles one way, so I'm doing 160 miles four times a week. Damn you crappy MI economy!

I didn't vote b/c the poll really doesnt cover me, and I don't want to screw up your count. I drive for a living as a long haul trucker, so never in the same place everyday. Average day for me is about 500-700 miles per day.

200-300 miles a day @ .485 mileage reimbursement. After tires, gas, etc. the rest is toy money. Used to be 400+.

In dense-traffic areas with stop-and go driving, though, you have to consider that there is often a big difference in miles between what the engine sees and what the wheels and odometer see.....and the transmission and brakes, of course, get a lot more wear also.

You'd also lose about 10lbs in weight each day in the summer. :p

50mi RT. i am not concerned about gas price, i care more about putting all these miles on my car just to commute to work

i rather keep it low miles and use it once a while for road trips

11 miles to work each way. add in additional couple of miles to the store and restraunts, and carting the kids around it goes up to 30-40

My commute is about 40, then going to the gym, running errands - I'd say about 70 miles per day :eek2:

A friend of mine who lives in Hawaii bikes to work. Imagine all the gas and insurance money he saves, despite the relatively lower wage. The maintence fee? He has to worry about inflate the bike and change several back seats a year.

Just to work and back, about 16 miles. But then again that is in a company van. I dont have to pay for the gas. The LS stays in the garage all week long and never gets driven. It might get roughly 50 or so miles on a typical weekend.:)
