RA40 06-02-08, 12:26 AM Bit interesting fountain...I felt similarly intrigued lately. G9 Both the water shots used the ND setting in function menu., ISO 80, f maxed for smallest opening, shutter speed about 1/25'th or so. 1. RA40 06-03-08, 05:30 PM No direct relation. Most the time I was asked if I was the fly fisherman. It's amusing to have such a common name. Even more fun when the local high school girls would call me up and ask about so-n-so. The fun ended when the wife picked up the phone and set them straight. :( RA40 06-03-08, 08:15 PM Slowly going through the scrimshaw shots: 5D 50/1.4 with 12mm extension tube. Sandra Brady, OH. http://www.scrimshaw-by-sandra-brady.com/ Enjoy. http://www.michaelfongphotography.com/files/brady02.jpg Some set-up background. The amusing part of this was the horseshoe. While farriers are around, tourists like me finding such props can be challenging. Though not completely shown, this horseshoe was forged by Red St. Cyr. He holds title as a Mastersmith in American Bladesmith Society (ABS) as well as a Master Farrier. http://www.revaforge.com/ Red attends some of the local knife shows and some years back, I'd been shooting items for a NM rancher. Trying to keep theme with ranch work and horses, Red was gracious to help with my prop collection. Quick comment/question though - is it me or are the highlights blown on these? I see you're using a D300, maybe the D-lite exposure adjustment is overcooking things? On the tart pic - the white cloth behind is a bit blinding. :p You might also consider cloning white at the top so the edge of the table is removed or just cropping it down. RA40 06-04-08, 10:19 PM One of the shots from Japan. The garden area of the Castle Park Hotel, Kagoshima, Japan. The highlights got cooked due to the scene falling part way in shade and sun. G9, ND filter on. Windy day also. :( RA40 06-04-08, 10:24 PM Lisa...nice product type. The sunglasses are moody feeling, good drama. :) Can you tell us how you shot the raspberry tart? Light set-up, along with any post processing adjustments. Lisa85 06-05-08, 02:43 AM Thanks guys. The raspberry tart was intially suppose to be just raspberry and the tart. However, my friend was bored and drizzled chocolate over it but it looked too dark when the pic was taken. So the owner sprinkled sugar powder over it. The lighting was simple - taken int he display case they had. I personally dont have any lighting equipment as I will invest in some in the future. On PS, I just increased the level. I really wish the chocolate wasn't there to distract the photo tho Bitkahuna - i have no idea. Didn't play with the Dlighting here. Just increased level *shrugs* adidosc 06-05-08, 05:56 AM lol - ready to sell that house? :D :D yeah, i see that now. :D Hartawan 06-05-08, 11:34 AM lisa that sunglass pic looks really cool, me like. skribblez 06-05-08, 07:50 PM Yamaha R1 - Superman Edition 1. http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u34/timothybui/2008-JUN-05/DSC_0016.jpg 2. http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u34/timothybui/2008-JUN-05/DSC_0026.jpg 3. http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u34/timothybui/2008-JUN-05/DSC_0018.jpg 4. http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u34/timothybui/2008-JUN-05/DSC_0034.jpg bitkahuna 06-05-08, 08:02 PM Nice bike, nice pics! :woot: Ok, one nit, I think you needed flash for the last one. :p skribblez 06-05-08, 08:28 PM Nice bike, nice pics! :woot: Ok, one nit, I think you needed flash for the last one. :p I did use flash, I had an off camera cord aiming the flash to the floor to lighten up the wheels and tires. Get the sun behind you. :) skribblez 06-14-08, 02:40 AM Don't worry :p a lot of people don't know it, even some of our neighbors... You all really have good pictures, I like them all! I think I'm gonna buy a good camera. What do you recommend me? This one: http://www.epromos.com/productimg/8817362S.jpg Nah, just kidding. acasaper 06-15-08, 09:03 AM Nice compositions, acasper. You asked about getting a better camera... well of course we recommend digital SLRs here and good lenses, the more you can afford the better. Since you're a Nikon shooter, maybe you should look at one of those. I can't recommend one because I don't know your budget or prices there in Andorra. Thanks! acasaper 06-15-08, 09:05 AM This one: http://www.epromos.com/productimg/8817362S.jpg Nah, just kidding. :D UberNoob 06-15-08, 10:49 AM Got back from Toronto on Monday i havent had time to retouch any of these pics yet 1. http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/2431/dsc1182rq7.jpg 2. http://img367.imageshack.us/img367/5046/dsc1206uk7.jpg 3. http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/783/dsc1214so6.jpg 4. http://img236.imageshack.us/img236/4876/dsc1216vl9.jpg 5. http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/3088/dsc1296sn2.jpg 6. http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/1463/dsc1306bb1.jpg 7. http://img159.imageshack.us/img159/9512/dsc1325ju8.jpg 8. http://img170.imageshack.us/img170/9493/dsc1331vh2.jpg 9. http://img170.imageshack.us/img170/9393/dsc1339yn8.jpg 10. http://img501.imageshack.us/img501/5871/dsc1342kp2.jpg UberNoob 06-15-08, 10:50 AM 11. http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/9508/dsc1343aa4.jpg 12. http://img55.imageshack.us/img55/129/dsc1349nk5.jpg 13. http://img120.imageshack.us/img120/8283/dsc1384gk8.jpg 14. http://img125.imageshack.us/img125/1633/dsc1393wk1.jpg Hartawan 06-15-08, 11:42 AM Time for a D300 or D3 Ubernoob, the noise is crazy on those pics :p kb2yza 06-15-08, 05:53 PM A shot from a mini vacation to Michigan Woogie 06-15-08, 06:28 PM Time for a D300 or D3 Ubernoob, the noise is crazy on those pics :p EXIF shows that he was using a D300. And it's only 35kb larger :) sykocus 06-15-08, 07:24 PM funny you should say that because they were taken with D300 just that taken without tripod or any aids so had to really turn the ISO up In #12 you didn't really need all the DOF f/10.0 gave you. You could have opened up to 6.3 and used an ISO of 200. What mode was the camera in? Most of the time I use Aperture Priority. I either use it to control the DOF or if I don't need a lot of DOF I can let as much light in as the lens allows for the fastest shutter speed. Sleeper97 06-15-08, 10:24 PM 1.
