Audi says no A1 for the U.S.
Volkswagen has been reported to favor Huntsville, Alabama for its new U.S. pant. According to Automobilwoche, the Chattanooga, Tennessee location (102 miles north of Huntsville), is the German automakers second choice.
Volkswagen’s premium unit, Audi, will also decide on its own U.S. plant in spring 2009 said CEO Rupert Stadler. “But of course it is also imaginable that we build cars together with Volkswagen in its planned U.S. factory,” said Stadler.
Sadly enough, and the comment we’re most concerned with, Stadler said that Audi has no plans to launch the compact Audi A1 in the U.S. He said that Audi will rather focus on introducing new-generations of the A4 and Q5 models.
“The Americans still want big cars, but with increasing fuel efficiency,” he said.
Umm Stadler? Where have you been?
Crappy dealers
Minimal or ineffective marketing
lease rates very unattractive
they are NOT bringing the hybrid Q7 here
now they are NOT bringing us the A1
Finally, A1 only works in a buisness where you have high steaks.
