For any of you that dont know much about PS tennis. Heres a brief break down. Its a 1 on 1 challenge. And you take an image, edit it. Then volley it to your challenger. Then he does what he can to the image to make it better. And so on and so on. Now about the rules.

You set your own rules to the challenger. For example; You can only add 1 layer per volley. Or perhaps you dont use any plugins at ALL(this is about skill), but only filters. You can basically make any rules you want. But remember be somewhat fair on your choice of rules and image.

Now I am offering a challenge to anyone in this FORUM. If there is any one out there wanting to show off there design skills. And wants to bite the challenge.......BRING IT !!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. I will post the rules of my Photoshop match when someone steps up to my offer. I was looking for a PS Moderator ? anyone. Oh and BTW I hear there is a prize to first place winner ;). Good luck......

Most likely, all the moderators (excluding those who participate) will be judges. We will have a poll. And only the moderators can vote.

These are my set rules for the challenger. I think these
are a fair set of rules. And anything goes.......

1. Layer unlimited
2. No plugins(only the use of stock PS filters)
3. 1 day turn around time
4. 7 volleys
5. Document size of 800 x 600
6. No styles or actions
7. Start off with photographic image but
cant add no other photographic image

Thats a fair set of rules I think. Oh and document
resolution is up to you. We usually play with
300 ppi, but not everyone have photographic
images at 300 ppi. So 72 ppi or 300 ppi.

soo........ we can't use photos to edit the original image....... hmmm.... so all we do is play with filters and that's it? Sounds pretty boring. How do you add bodykits and rims to a car without using photographic images? :confused:


I think we should just keep it simple. Moderator post a picture of a car, we chop it anyway we like, let people vote on which one looks the best. We should have everyone who's interested participate.

The problem with volleying is, you're chopping relative to what the other person is doing. This is basing too much on what other person did, not what you are capable of. If we just use the same pic and chop it anyway we want, we won't see what others are doing, and can do what we are really capable of.

I'll talk with the admin about an official challenge like that :D

Globe's ideas seems like it will be better for everyone. Truthfuly I can't see how the whole volley deal works. The final pic will only be the last person's chopping. Or am i wrong.:confused: Other wise a board challenge like Globes would hold lotsa fun. Just my 2 cents..

Well this a Photoshop tennis match. Not editing a car with kits and rims. This challenge is about skill. And it takes alot more skill to do what challenge I have offered. IC. Do you have any examples of this VOLLEYING challenge that you have been doing? I would really like to see what type of stuff you can come up with.

"simple car chops"???? you OBVIOUSLY havent looked at the peoples work on here that much, ALOT of hard work goes into these "simple car chops" it takes skill and creativity as well as a good knowledge of photoshop to produce these "simple car chops" I am not trying to fuel the flames here, but try to show some respect for what we are doing here.

For some very odd reason I can't log in from my computer. So I tried a different one/location and it works no problem. I have tried atleast twice a day and still can't log in from my home computer.

..........Actually pretty easy, I through that together so you could see the simple steps. That pencil was on its own layer so I transformed it then dropped a refection on the table. Same for the notepad for the most part.

Nice. So...since Ethan hasn't sent me the gift cert. yet, and GrafFX is back in business, is everybody cool with finishing the contest? I have no problem with it...I'd rather get the last volley from GrafFX and have judging, if everybody's still into it...what do you guys think?

Well, this is how I judged it:

I copied all the pictures and just chose the ones I really liked.

GrafFx won 3-2.

As for the pictures themselves...

From GrafFx:

1) Lexus word
2) The three balls
3) The Club Lexus words

From bizzareRide:

1) The table picture
2) The word ClubLexus with swirls

Actually, I just made a decision because I don't want to delay this tourny any longer. I don't want to delay it another 1 week for the mods to vote and etc. There is already another tourney going on.

It was suppose to be done August 1st, and today is August 8th.

It was a great match. The creativity was good by both players.

Globe - sounds like fun...looking forward to it. I just did my first chop on a pic of my car, and it turned out ok. It's a different animal than just designing something cool though...I developed a whole new respect for the 'shop choppers around here. :)
