Is my GF getting my Greddy lip caught on a RR track and snapping part of it off a wreck? Or a racoon running in front of me and pulling my TTE lip partially loose? I'm guessing no - a real wreck requires damage to a factory body panel, suspension, etc. Captain Bone 03-16-03, 04:22 PM I'm sure totalling a car would qualify. Yea, I did that to my old 1993 SC 400. Let's not talk about it. -Anthony Yankees Diva 03-30-03, 08:20 PM well one in daddys car in the snow.......(black ice so it wasnt my fault) and the damn civic which was partially my fault hope there the last and ive learned my lesson .......dont push in the clutch and roll threw stop signs :nono: ~ Stella alexamparo 04-11-03, 08:24 PM On my way from Biloxi Mississippi to Ruston Louisiana this happens.............long story.....wet road+ jackass chevy S10+zombie conditions=quick over correction= .......well....this alexamparo 04-11-03, 08:25 PM three months and a new gs later........ alexamparo 04-11-03, 08:28 PM talk about bad luck............second time was black Ice....the car was fresh off of a new paint job. The SC is a tough car, but nobody sees it on the road, especially Ford F150's. Overclocker GS4fun 07-09-03, 07:18 PM 4:thumbdn: LexDiamond 07-16-03, 04:10 PM 2 Actually. Both in the same car! First time a off duty police officer hit me what a mess. A drunk driver struck me from behind and totalled my baby  Oh man the kid was nice and I felt bad but he was drunk we both just left the same bar so we exchanged info and then I called the cops and told him to beat it. :yikes: I'll get my scanner back online and post some pics of my baby wrecked    LuCiA 07-25-03, 11:37 AM Had one in a 1993 ES 300 - wasnt my fault though - let mom take the car out one night and she didnt come home =\ Joey XvWesvX 08-09-03, 07:46 AM I ran my car into a tree going 60 and didnt get hurt at all and was able to drive the car home after. It was $9,000 to fix the car The whole front was smashed in all the way to the motor. The air bags worked! Then I spun off the road cause I was going to fast and ran into a speed limit sign which left a nice dent in the door The other day I was rear ended. I got a $2,000 check from the guy that hit me So that's 3 wrecks in one car! Rx900 08-20-03, 09:18 PM Had one already on my RX. Stupid b***h rammed into the back of my RX. My RX got sandwiched into a Ford Winstar. The altima that rear ended my rx was totaled, the winstar got a very big dent in the trunk door, and my RX got: 1. rear bumper scratched and got a hole in it. 2. front bumper got pushed in so it was facing up, 3. condenser got scratched up when it was pushed into the winstar 4. grille got few scratches, (good thing the shop changed it for a new one) 5. the floor of my spare tire got pushed in because the altima went right under the rx 6. the muffler system jacked up because it too got pushed in ( changed the whole muffler system) 7. unsolved rattles in the dashboard. Man, I just wanted to get the ****** out of that b***h. It was my mom who was driving the rx when this happened.:thumbdn:       Oh well, At least we changed the rx for a new gx now. If someone rear ends my gx, man they would never wished they lived. mmcustom 09-01-03, 10:13 AM never had a wreck, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. juan01 10-28-03, 07:11 AM I havent been a real wreck per say, but I hit a dog at 60mph and broke my foglight and housing off.. We both lived in NJ and she took it for a joyride to PA to get steak sandwiches...... long story short, the rear bumper cover had to be replaced. Lexusfreak 12-07-04, 03:49 PM Glad to see the 5 or more spot empty lol. :eek2: Celsior Master 12-31-04, 11:26 AM stopped at el pollo loco couple years ago. came back out to find that some punk @$$ hit and run !$^%@# %$#@&^ ran into my passenger door when leaving his parking spot. i clearly remember having at least 3 feet of space from the car too. had to basically replace the whole door  Rx900 12-31-04, 01:53 PM i remember seeing two trucks in a parking lot, one parked with a tow hitch and one backing out. well the parked one was a chevy and the backing out one was a nissan. well when the nissan drove forward, it got it's left front fender stuck into the tow hitch of the chevy! (:egads: I know it's not a Lexus story, but something amazing that i saw though!) usmanj 12-31-04, 03:08 PM December 2nd, 2004. A day I will never forget. The day that I was involved in an accident in my GS. The day I contemplated whether or not driving was worth it. To keep a long story short, basically the person who was responsible for this accident jumped a stop sign as I was already entered into the intersection with right of way- no stop signs for me. He came from my left and I braked hard. My car was hit on the front and his car on the front-half passenger side. His car was then pushed into a third car at the stop sign to the right of me, causing damage to the third cars front- grill, lights. I don't want to point fingers, but the individual who jumped the stop sign was a former student at my school. He actually never graduated-dropped out and worked as a pizza delivery boy. He was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way. One week later he was arrested and thrown in jail for no insurance :nono: You would think someone who drove for a living would know the rules of the road, or at least have the common sense to not drive without insurance. And oh yeah, all I have to say the Lexus build is amazing. Me, and my two brothers were restrained and luckily received no injuries. I am still awaiting my car- it's been delayed because of well the Christmas/New Year Season, in terms of getting parts in. Anyways here's some pictures that might help illustrate what I am talking about better. The red car was the one that jumped the stop sign :thumbdn: http://home.rochester.rr.com/ujsr/Accident%20Resized/120204_154122.jpeg http://home.rochester.rr.com/ujsr/Accident%20Resized/120204_152609.jpeg http://home.rochester.rr.com/ujsr/Accident%20Resized/120204_160040.jpeg http://home.rochester.rr.com/ujsr/Accident%20Resized/120204_154016.jpeg Yeah and guess what? That following Tuesday I was involved in another accident. Same street but this time I was in the passengers seat. My friend was giving me a ride back home and we had stopped for the truck ahead of us to make a left turn. Then a few moments later we were thrown forward and I am like oh snap!, not this again. I quickly jumped out and looked at the car behind us. It was totalled, but at this moment I was laughing inside. Another one of my friends had rear-ended us :egads: I gave him a pat on the back and was like yeah my friend, you're screwed. As for the truck ahead of us he received no real damage and just drove off. My friend who was giving me a ride had his car totalled- because it wasn't worth it to fix it, and my other friend who rear-ended us obviously had his totalled. Here's a pic of my friend who rear-ended my other friend: http://home.rochester.rr.com/ujsr/120704_122453%20(Medium).jpeg At the end of all this I look back and laugh and say thank God for seatbelts. After being involved in two accidents within not even a week, I am still a little paranoid driving on the road, but yeah, I guess that's normal. K this post is getting too long, going to stop now  Rx900 01-01-05, 12:43 AM ouch, that doesn't look good  usmanj 01-01-05, 08:55 AM ouch, that doesn't look good  No it doesn't. But if all goes according to plan it should be finally back in 5 days. Wald GS 01-05-05, 09:27 PM Good luck with everything USMANJ!! C-Train 01-06-05, 04:18 PM usmanj, the paranoia wears off in about a month, i would know, i've been in 3 accidents this past year. but paranoia was the best thing that could happen to me after i caused an accident, i've been extremely careful driving. back on topic, i wrecked my lex, cut someone off :egads: :egads: :egads: . other 2 i've been in were not my fault though, head on and rear ended in a mazda tribute that i'm currently driving. usmanj 01-06-05, 06:29 PM usmanj, the paranoia wears off in about a month, i would know, i've been in 3 accidents this past year. but paranoia was the best thing that could happen to me after i caused an accident, i've been extremely careful driving. back on topic, i wrecked my lex, cut someone off :egads: :egads: :egads: . other 2 i've been in were not my fault though, head on and rear ended in a mazda tribute that i'm currently driving. You are exactly right. It was a good 3 weeks before I picked up the nerve to get back at driving. Seeing that today is the 6th, it has been a month and 4 days since that accident. Still no car back though because of bad timing--but it shall return in 10 days, fingers crossed. got_trd 03-25-05, 02:06 PM none... hopefully it stays that way :D Mr. SC300 04-22-05, 10:34 AM so far I got into one accident, which was yesterday  -romeo blacksc400 04-27-05, 06:48 PM hope not! :chicken: Inabj2 04-28-05, 06:17 PM I was minding my own bussiness in a pedestrian red light, when a sunfire that did not see the red light, (He admitted it himself) Slams into my trunk at 40 mph. He didnt even bother to break. As soon as I felt impact I let go of the brakes and let the car roll quite a distance. Im sure I posted pics of it a year ago in the sc300/400 forums. The car ran and drove fine so i decided to fix it, I felt the structural integrity of the car was not badly damaged. When i got a estimate to fix it damages were in excess of 15,600 dollars and the guy stopped becuase he outright said the car was totaled. In my house the claims adjustor came and just said it was totaled. And they wanted to give me the trade in value of the car(7000k, my car was in prime condition, I paid 12900 a year earlier.) . At this point I told him to beat it. a few hassles later we managed to max the sunfires limit of 10000 to give me that money to me towards fixing the car and not having a salvaged tittle, I sourced the replacement parts myself from car-parts.com and found an extremely skilled body shop guy that we hired him. Problem... he was located in mexico, so uh we drove the car there (car drove like a champ, seriously I could not tell its been in an accident from the drivers seat, super smooth at 85 mph, even had perfect alignment!), and I had the major damage portions repaired for roughly 1800 dollars, and put the rest of the 10000 into a savings account knowing that Id would need it to fix other small problems id encounter on the road. The car is now about 99 percent fixed. We chose to straighten the rear end out rather then cut and solder a new rear end into piece, the body panels was straightened out flawlessly by hand the work down is just down right amazing. The support beam obviously by machine. However the support brackets for the 12 disk cd changer were badly damaged and unrepairable as well as the plastic rear right cover on the bottom. The car was paint matched flawlessly by computer and to this day I cannot tell where the new paint is and where the old paint is. All this done for again 1800 dollars. 1400 was what I paid for labor, 400 was what I paid for junkard parts, mainly a rear fender support and fender. However the car developed some mechanical problems from sitting around for such a long time, however its almost right back to what it used to be minus my current egr problem. And Ive still yet to fix the support metal pieces for the 12 cd changer. And I could use new rear lights since they were slightly damaged from the impact. And im considering stitch welding the rear suport beam for extra strenght so I have the option of fixing it again if I so choose to. Although prices of sc300 have fallen dramatically this year. The only reason I chose to fix the car is because I felt the integrity of this car was not damaged, it drove and felt 100 percent fine even after the wreck. On contrary an S13 of mine hit a dirt patch and understeered into a mountain wall going about 40 mph, and I managed to mess up the left fender, snap the control arm like a toothpick and mess up the steering arms badly, but the deathblow of them all... I put the tire trough the firewall.. (getting my foot out was quite a challange 45 minutes later I manage to get my foot out that was stuck between clutch pedal/brake pedal/crushed firewall and the steering column. Got out only after yanking it hard enough after having my friends deflate the tire completely, and yes screaming like a sissy in the process helped!) Even though i know I could possibly get this car running, In this case I dont think its worth it given the low value of s13s, the fact that such an essential part damaged and probably would not be the same ever again. So Instead the easiest solution was for me to buy an identical s13 chassis for 430 dollars, and swap my running engine and parts over. My friend hit my front fender in Febuary, got it fixed i was all happy and then now march, someone hit my right rear passanger door. The picture below is one shot of it, theres a thread in LX470forum with all the pix but the main part of my damages were my bent rear axle housing. Hopefully i get to pick her back up today, friday.
