The M5 looks better than the regular 5, but still something isnt right.

Even though BMW is making ugly cars, people will still buy them just for the name. Around my area there is at least 1 new 7 series on each block. BTW i think the 5 looks even worse than the 7.

The German has taste, but the new 2004 LS is also not too bad

i must admit, I thought these car were ugly too, but Speedvision had a 30 minute road test of one in Germany. Watching the car in motion, and in different environments gave a much better representation of the styling. I actually kinda like it, and think the M5 looks even better.

That being said, I would take a e39 M5 over it anyday, and just get a Dinan S2 package, 0-60 in 4.2 seconds:driving:

The drivetrain sounds like a winner, but the exterior styling will take some getting used to. I saw the test drive on Speed as well, and it looks much better going around the 'Ring at triple digit speeds. Still pictures do not do this car justice. At least the rear view is better than the 7's coffin lid trunk.

Is it smaller in size than the older model or its the pic that shows it that way?

Let's see, a couple of months ago the estimated base price was $78K, now it is $85K. Wonder what it will really be.

If they are going to use that as a Taxi around the Ring, I'm booking a ride!!!
Even if it doesn't look too good I would like to feel what a 500hp V10 feels like driven at 10/10ths.
