You may recall a while back we created an "Iraq War Crisis" forum to contain the many threads when our members wanted to discuss issues related to the war. After the war ended, we removed that forum due to a reduction in activity. Recently several members have started new threads related to the aftermath of the war and other political topics where there are strong opinions expressed.
I'm going to be very clear in the rules of the new 'Debate' forum. They are the same as on the rest of the ClubLexus forums. Some moderators believe that we should not allow these type of topics to be discussed on on our forums AT ALL because of the personal attacks and heated discussions that often ensue. They say they have nothing to do with Lexus or even automobiles in general, why allow them?
I disagree because I feel it's important for our members to share more than just enthusiasm about Lexus automobiles - you should be able to express your thoughts and concerns on any number of topics (including politics) in this type of forum... as long as you follow the rules. I believe that our forum members can discuss a controversial topic where they totally disagree with one another without insulting one another. Please do not make me change my beliefs.
We created this forum where ClubLexus members who do not want to be subjected to the back-and-forth nature of debates do not have to view it. Keep it clean, keep to the topic, keep it impersonal. You should reply based on the facts of the post, not on the person making them. Anyone who cannot follow these simple rules - and the general rules of our forum (click here to read them (http://www.clublexus.com/forums/faq.php) ) - will have their posting priviledges removed from this subforum or all of ClubLexus. If we have an ongoing issue with moderating this forum it will be closed.
