Is it possible for someone who is not a California resident to buy a Scion?

A friend of mine (Illinois resident) is looking to buy a Scion Xb but can't wait, is it possible for her to buy the car in California or are there residency restrictions?

My friend lived in AZ, and bought a truck in CA. I know they were giving him a hassle about the taxing, and it turned out to be an expensive mess.

I saw an Xb parked in Dallas two days ago. Man I think those things look great.

And I picked up a "Scion music mix" CD at the SCION display area at the Texas State Fair. They have the Xa and Xb there with all the TRD options.

Yes. Just contact a Cali dealer, and they can arrange to ship it to you. There are folks in Germany who have bought the little city crawlers, don't see why you can't///
