2015 Acura TLX Discussion

Today while out running errands I drove through an Acura dealers lot and saw two TLX's, both black. The car looked nice with trim proportions. At first I thought they were TSX's but then saw the LED headlights and different styling. One, a 4 cyl., stickered at $35k - I didn't look at the other one. I didn't have time to go inside and sit in one, but will sometime soon. It will sell well for Acura. Whether or not the volume will make up for the TSX and TL remains to be seen.

It's possible (?) that they do, under a different name. The American-market TSX has traditionally been the smaller, non-U.S. market Honda Accord. (possibly the same Accord sold in your part of the world). The American-spec Accord is done on a slightly larger platform.

Often, it's also the not-so-young professionals as well. The mid-life crisis desire for sport-oriented cars is well-known, though I managed to avoid it myself.

Pole Position
Unfortunately it isn't. Maybe at some point it was discussed for TLX to be world Accord but as usual they have "better ideas" like making the exact same car with different looks for no apparent reason known as Honda Spirior concept which will end up as the global Accord. They probably going to cut on the tech inside so maybe that's why. If they were willing to offer TLX as is with some small displacement diesel even with no P-AWS the car would probably sell tons and end up as world wide ultra success.

45k for the top loaded one isnt a bad deal. I can see some merits of the TLX design, it would be simple to manufacture since you only have one body and one interior to produce and swap in powertrains and drivetrains. Interior looks like a standard acura interior, nothing special

Lower any car and tint the windows and you'll have this. Always done with company photos on a new car. Don't fall for it.

does it come with standard leather, sunroof, LED headlights, memory seats, 8/9 speed transmission, AWS, keyless too?

Shouldn't this be the case? A Camry for less than a TLX? Acura touts itself as an upscale or luxury make. Why wouldn't its mid sized sedan be more than a midsized family sedan?

This car had lots of potential. Some issues:
-V6 engine should have been over 320HP to compete
-SH AWD should have been available on the 4 cyl models
-Advanced package with all the tech nannys should have been made available on the 4 cyl
From the reviews, it looks like the 4 cyl model is the one to get in terms of driving dynamics and economy. Why compromise on it and make it not available with all the options?!

base IS350 V6 = $40K
base TLX V6 = $35K
not even competing with that car anyway.....just threw out some numbers.
