Default Black sticky tar like substance in exhaust

I’ve got a question. I installed a new exhaust tip about a week ago. This afternoon I noticed that the exhaust tip was caked with black sticky, almost tar-like substance around the rim. At first I thought it would clean up with windex, however after a hour of scrubbing with a non abrasive cleaner and old toothbrush, it dawned on me to take pics and ask the wisdom of the forum.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if I have the wisdom. Check your oil. If you are not loosing oil, or have to add oil between oil changes, not sure it is something to worry about. No warning lights on the dash. Are you taking you GX up over 80 mph on those Texus freeways? If it is a tar substance, bug and tar remover, not windex. Or Kerosene, any solvent, except gasoline.

Looks like your Lexus is eating up the road, and sptting it out the tail pipe, just a little humor. Your tailpipe and tip, look just like mine. I use a scotchbrite pad and some Comet clenser at the end of the tip, on the outside back edge. I leave the inside black.

Normal. Start being concerned if you see blue smoke on startup (which you never will with that engine)
