Install probably isn't plug and play, but you would simply t tap one of the following:
T tap a cig lighter for the lights to be on all the time or
T tap another ambient light in the car that comes in with your headlights. It's very easy, I did that with my camaro. I t tapped it to my backlighting for my 4 gauge pack. So now it comes on when my headlights are on.
Did yours have all that wiring? Looks like it has a ballast under the foam wrap...
As a side note, it DOES look relatively plug and play, although, there seems to be a wire splice attached to a wire in the bundle.
Mine looked very similar to that. Mine had 2 wires coming off each plate. I drilled through my cup holder and fed the wires underneath. At that point, I plugged each of them into a supplied module, and then took the wires off the module and used t-taps to connect them into the backlight for the gauges on my 4 pack. That way, they weren't always on, but were only on when my headlights were.
Took me more time to take my car apart than it took to install them. Nice thing too is the module has a switch on it, so if one was to go out, I can just pull the side of my center console and shut them off.
