Los Angeles AMG meet
Found these pictures from mbworld.org. Although not typical weather for S. California, I think the presence of the AMG rides made up for it

, Love the Benz's stylin, now only if they are more reliable.

I'm sorry but that new E Class does nothing for me I like the old one (E) better that goes for the BMW 5 Series too. I'm not saying I would not want to drive one but it needs to look less round.
The SL looks great

I Was There
Was running an errand up in Pasadena and as I was cruising by the Rose Bowl parking lot, spotted these monsters. Great bunch of owners - really nice guys. They were there to begin an official (sanctioned by Diamler-Chrysler) AMG group in North America. Hope they pull it off.
I talked to the owner of the RENNtech SL55 for some time. Almost all the work was done by Meridian who in turn used Brabus for the suspension and RENNtech for engine, exhaust and exterior enhancements. The suede-leather interior combo was done by Meridian. Those are 20" HRE 549's in tectite on it.
He admitted that it wasn't a very road-savy car, and that he had done the work so he could take it to the track. He said the average time at Willow Springs for a professionally driven Porsche GT3 was about 1:40. He said that when his professional driver friend ran Willow in his car, he could do consistent 1:38's. Not bad. He said for a road-savy car he'd enthusiastically prefer the E55.
There was only one 2004 E55 in Tectite Gray/Charcoal-Merlot. It was beautiful and I got the sense that everyone there wished it was in their stable.

Before I bought my GS I was also looking at the (last gen) E55. The salesman told my wife and I that 80% of all Benzes are produced in silver. Looking at these pics I believe it!
P.S. Tectite gray is the BEST!
