Cool Clear Bra Install

I just had a clear bra installed by Sam from Mach III (CL Vendor) on my 2004 SC (while gold crystal) and it looks fantastic. He came and did the install at my home and you can't even see the line. On previous postings I mentioned that I was going to just follow way behind cars and use touch-up paint but after having two minor chips before 1,000 miles I decided to look into the clear bra further. I stated before that I saw a white truck with Expl on it at a body shop and it looked terrible. I read postings from Mach III and saw pictures and decided to visit them in San Francisco to see for myself what their work looked like. After seeing their work and talking with Sam I decided to take the plunge. He answered all my questions and his work is perfection. Now I don't have to worry about driving my car. (Except for the cracked windshield I got last week from a rock, but I did get that fixed with OEM glass on Friday.) I feel so much at ease now that I have had this done. Thanks again for everyone's previous input on this matter!

Thanks for the post. How much did the clear bra and installation cost? Did you also have the front side of your mirrors done?

I live in Houston - is there anyone who can offer a recommendation on where to go to get this done?

Oh man, it broke my heart to see those holes on the bumper. I'm glad you're not as **** as me. I always special order my cars (specifying holes as a deal breaker) since I live in a front plate state, and the first thing stupid dealers do is attach plate bracket and slap (or even rivet!) dealer badges without even knowing where the car will be sold, or if future owners want them .

On the bra job, it looks very well done. You can tell where the film is in the side picture, but white is the best color to hide it IMO. A small compromise for piece of mind. Congrats.

I wasn't real happy to see that my dealer had installed a front plate on the vehicle when I looked at it and to be honest I almost didn't buy it because of that. I really wanted the color though and didn't know how much longer I would have to wait to get another one. I took the front plate off and have now installed bumper plugs that I got online that match the color. I know it isn't as good as not having any holes at all, but it sure beat the front plate look. I think most cars look better without them.

Personally, I wouldn't mind mounting a front plate if I had a bracket that fit the contours of the bumper. Of course, if Lexus made one, it would probably cost $150.

I also have a paint protection film on my SC430, but from Armorglove.

I have: Front bumper/air-dam, headlights, side wings of fender, hood (wrapped edges), rocker panels, door cups, side mirrors.

Cost installed: a bit over $1000.00.

Armorglove installs all the high-end cars in CT: Porsche, Ferarri, Austin Martin etc. They do a superb job.

Bottom line, GET IT DONE... NOW!! If you value your finish, you need a clear bra.

Regards,
Deanski
