First problem, Seatbelt Retractor
Here is my first problem with the car.
This morning I pulled the car out of the garage and attempted to buckle my driver's side seatbelt.
It would not advance out of the slot on the pillar.
No matter how much fiddling I did, no luck.
I called roadside assistance but they don't handle that sort of stuff.
I guess it's off to the dealer for a visit.
Anyone else experiencing this glitch?

Yep. I did this week. No amount of fiddling with it worked. That lasted about 1 1/2 days. I went to the dealer so someone could look at it and, behold, it worked properly before I even dropped the car off. The Service Manager gave me his card and told me to call him if it happens again and he will order a new seat belt assembly for me.

Every Lexus my family (including me) have ever owned have had problems with seatbelt retracters. Our 2006 GS's have this problem, the 2004 RX330 we traded had that problem, my aunt's 2003 ES330, my uncles 1994 GS300, my 2001 ES300, 2000 RX300, the 1999 GS400, the list goes back.

Thanks folks.
So much for me feeling unique and special.
One of the local dealers, IRA has the service department open on Sunday.
They were pretty busy but were willing to take the car and give me a loaner (ES 330).
There is a positive here as I needed to get thecar back to a dealer to intialize the sensors on my winter wheels.
The oops there is that I only received all seven digits for three of the four sensor serial numbers.
The dealer will have to break the wheels down one by one to get at the sensors to find the missing digit for the sensor where I only have six of the seven digits.
Then they will be able to complete the initialization.
If I were doing this, the fourth wheel would be the one with the sensor I don't have all the info on.
We'll see how the tech at IRA does tomorrow.

It must be a common problem because the driver's side seatbelt on the IS350 that I test drove was also stuck. Me and the salesman both tried to get it to loose but with no luck. Obviously that doesn't help the test drive experience.

I've had my seatbelt retactor lock up on me three times in the week and a half I have owned my IS250. I made an apointment to get the seatbelt changed out at my Lexus dealer after the first time it locked up but I fixed it myself before the appointment. I am going to get it replaced at the 5000 service. It has mostly locked up when I have the car parked on an incline.
First I removed the lower interior b-pillar panel and jiggled the retractor mechinism and it unlocked. The second and thirt time I knocked decently hard on the lower b-pillar panel and it unlocked.

Here's the update.
The parts for the retractor will not be available for a week to a week and a half so I will be bonding with my ES 330 loaner for a while.
