Thanks to CleanSC's cold cathode install thread I was inspired to do my own. (CleanSC's thread)

I was aiming for blue climate and dash lighting so I found myself a 6" Blue cold cathode tube. The results were spectacular!!

It truly makes an amazing difference!

I decided to power the inverter internally as done by CleanSC. And with the inverter situated behind the display like in the picture, the climate control installs without the inverter interferring.

Big props to CleanSC for the idea!

It is a good setup. it's TOO bright for my tastes, but impressive looking... yes indeed!

I find it impossible to drive at night with a cathode burning. White is a bit more tolerable (like jose's), but the blue is just way to piercing.

The middle picture is a bit overexposed making it appear 'piercing'.
The top image more closely captures the blue glow, clean and even.

hehe... Its no Lextech LED mod..
But it is a tremendous improvement over stock!

I once modded my climate with cathodes and it looked great.. I used white so it wasn't too bad on the eyes, but another time I used 12 blue led's and that's when I stopped liking blue climate screens. It was equivalent to a cathode. Just way too much blue at night around here where it is pitch black outside. If you are in an area where there are a lot of lights at night it will be less bothersome.

I loved that way that turned out because it was behind tinted glass (and it was white). In the cluster, I think the tinted face would kill off some glare enough for it to be attractive and not blinding. Now this is just for me of course, for some the brighter the better. I'm just one of those people that prefer the German dashes intensity which is dulled down to avoid distraction.

Red or orange are the best colors for night vision. This means that when you look up from your guages at night, you won't see much--if any--aftervision.
