If the timing is right, there's a good chance I'll come down for the meet and a little vacay. 780 miles for me!

We are going to really make this an EVENT. We will make it worth your while. Plus I'm bringing more chics.

J/K, I cannot wait. I had such a good time at the Smokey Mountains I can't get it off my mind. Details to come.

Dave GS4 was right about the fall foliage drawing beaucoup tourists. We love Gatlinburg, but ON WEEKENDS just about any time between May and November, the town is truly a parking lot, and the roads in and out are virtually bumper to bumper. It is especially crowded on fall weekends when UT is playing in Knoxville, and Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge fills up with orange. We only go during the week anymore, when the crowds are not bad and you can actually drive around. It's like Maggie Valley except narrower, denser, and jam-packed with Down South tourist stuff. Hundreds of motels, condos, cabins, restaurants, shops, space needle, cable car up the mountain, Ripley's, the works. I noticed some people who did DG last year commented negatively on the distance from Cherokee to DG. Gatlinburg will be similar, about 50 miles, probably over an hour. But there aren't a lot of options. I'm up for just about whatever, wherever, whenever.
