Adrenaline-Charged Lexus IS F Crackles With V8 Power (Fridays are for F Presented by Continental ExtremeContact DWS^{06 Plus})

When it comes producing a fun and exhilarating performance car, Lexus always understands the assignment. 

We’re not sure why, but the Lexus IS F is often overlooked as a luxury performance sedan. Anyone who has had the distinct pleasure of experiencing the Lexus IS F in action understands its draw. For the uninitiated, the Lexus IS F is a V8-powered, 416 hp ride that served as a cornerstone for the brand’s F Sport division. Luxus produced the track-bred IS F from 2008 until its untimely demise in 2014

Recently, news emerged that the IS F may be returning. And if the rumors are true the feisty IS F will feature a twin-turbo V8. After hearing this great news we had to feature the high-performance sedan for Fridays Are For F. So we decided to show the IS F doing what it does best…which turns out to be a little bit of everything.

This 2012 Lexus IS F is owned by BreakerOhio. He has shared videos on his YouTube channel of his Lexus drifting, autocross, on the track, on the road. Each demonstrates how versatile the Lexus IS F is.

Mostly stock; the Lexus IS F has some aero mods, an RR Racing suspension, RR Racing Ultimate Steering Response System, new tires, KN filter, and a few others. Breaker Ohio wisely chose to focus his mods on improving handling for the track rather than boost horses. The IS F already came to this party with the power.

It doesn’t take much to get the IS F to blazing levels. Hey, it comes off the line with a performance-tuned 5.0-liter V8 engine paired with the knockout eight-speed Sport Direct Shift transmission. The result is an incredibly responsive sedan that handles like a dream. Maybe a fever dream.

Oh yeah, it can throw down! One thing that IS F drivers love is that the car was both a luxury sedan as well as a finely-tuned hi-po machine. We love sports cars, but they aren’t always compatible with day-to-day driving. The IS F gave us the best of both worlds.

Lets hope this news pans out. We need more cars like the Lexus IS F: a smooth riding thrill machine.
